Snake Pit U.S.A. Catch Wrestling Association’s Founder/Head Coach Joel Bane demonstrates a few Catch Wrestling counter attacks when faced with inside “Ashi Garami.” For those of you who aren’t aware “Ashi Garami” is just Japanese for “Leg Hold” or “Leg Entanglement” and falls under Judo’s “Katame-waza” which simply covers attacks against an opponent who is on his/her back. Try not to overthink it, and try using the Catch Wrestling concept of controlling your opponent’s hip first, then attacking everything below instead of just pinning an ankle or foot.
