canyouhearthemcanyouseethemitfeelswonderful As an IBJJF 2nd Degree Black belt who teaches both, I assure you they cannot IF you’re weight is on their shoulder blade, and you have fully compromised their elbow by taking all the slack out. Give it a try 💪🏻 - J. Bane
Does this work when someone can roll to their back or does it depend on his avoidance of being pinned shoulders down? If it does then I would like to add this to my game but if it doesn't and somebody knows maybe you could save me some time.
Erik's Jiu-Jitsu in the Park If this is done properly (with all your weight on them) they cannot go to their backs unless you make that the path of least resistance. It is used as part of a pinning combo sometimes, but if they manage to get to their back without you forcing them there, then you goofed up somewhere. Hope that helps. 👍🏻 J. Bane
@@SnakePitUSA thanks man I'll give it a try I like this style of attacking the turtle position do you have any tips on how to get the cross-body ride without placing your leg directly behind and in between their legs were they could roll through and grab
Erik's Jiu-Jitsu in the Park No problem. It’s just a single leg hook crossed over their ankle with you positioned perpendicular. Get one hook or start into a Turk/Top Ride and you can easily switch to it. 👍🏻 - J. Bane
Erik's Jiu-Jitsu in the Park Im not on here often, we have a few kind folks who monitor it. It seems you may be confused with what gap the leg is in. There is no leg behind his rear end if you’re thinking of an entry into a knee bar attack etc. It’s simply one hook. You’re biggest leg threat would be a shin lock from them sitting out while you’re inserting it. If they roll from cross body the only way they can, it would result in an easy banana split or wrestlers guillotine for you.- Ask your head instructor at your school to go over it, hopefully he can help you.
