That first hook set is a thing of beauty, that moment of ripping and the fish not moving from being so big will never get old lol. Love it.

Hi, I cant understand why U pulled out the PB brown, then released without unhooking? Then pulled back and making picks again with hooks on the fish? If this fish is for eating - nothing will change, but if U want to release - immediate relieving from hooks decrease dammage and chances to be hurt for both of You

Agreed. I love watching his videos, because everything is sooo good up until the fish handling. It could be worse, but he could do a lot better. He did eventually get a net and we didn't need to see trout dragged out on rocks.
@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620
@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 3 месяца назад
@@xxxx-iu4kd there may have been a couple fish that swam hard towards the bank and got on the rocks themselves, but I’ve never intentionally banked a trout!!👌 If the fish are near rocks, they are in the shallow water, but in the water, and I move them promptly into the deeper water! Fishing isn’t perfect Man, especially when you’re catching 20+ inch fish in small streams……. I try to make it as perfect as I can but it is not perfect.🤷‍♂️ Trying to be better and as good as I can & I think my newer videos 2021-2024 speak for themselves! 👌🤙🍻 Cheers man & appreciate the cpl compliments lol👌😉😎

Yup agreed, and his poor argument of catching him yearly. That's 1 or 2 cases the younger fish wouldn't be able to take that. I love his content I hate his Handling.

I caught a 14 inch brookie on the head waters of the Colorado. That's a big fish up there, hooked jaw, beautiful coloring. I got him every time I went camping, but in different holes. Probably got him 6 times that year. Was really surprised when I got him again the next year. He had a scar across his back and down both sides,hard to mistake it. Something had ahold of him for a bit. I'll always remember that fish. Early 80s. I can imagine how you feel catching these browns. Plus, if your catching them year after year your not mishandling them. Great videos!

Bro please get a net 🤷🏼‍♂️ at least give those Heffers a decent rest before your whole photo shoot which is totally unnecessary since you have them documented on your go pro 🤷🏼‍♂️ I’ve no issues with getting a photo or two but as I do it myself but I don’t have a go pro apart this one issue I love your vids those were 2 beautiful wild browns that are just making me itch to get out for trout season but over here in Scotland it’s midway through March beginning of April 🤦🏼‍♂️ Tight lines 😉😁 ✌🏼💙🎣🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍🏼

Yeah, this video was from 2020 which was pre-net for me. I ended up getting a net in June 2020 but as you notice these fish are in the water the whole time except for a short moment when I take them out to take a picture and then put them right back in the water. All good though, I ended up catching them both the next year also and then the following year torrential floods ripped through that stream completely altering it and I have not been able to locate a big fish in that stream since…… a 6 year run with both fish though….. definitely a completely nostalgic chapter in my fishing career!! Tight Lines & best of luck to you as well my friend! 👌

excellent as always!) How many maximum casts of bait can be made into a promising place before a bite occurs? Sometimes it seems to me that large fish disappear from good places, and after twenty minutes a bite occurs.
@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620
@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 3 месяца назад
That’s a great question actually….. it can happen on the 1st cast or the 50th….. I generally base how much time spend on a spot on either what I’ve previously learned about that stream in regards to it having quality fish or what I just learned that day, meaning a strike/bite or follow & nontake….. basically if I know a big fish is there I’m going to put more time in on that spot….. a lot of times that will pay off! Persistence Pays!!! 👌🤙😁 I’ve got more videos that I’ll be putting out on these exact experiences!! 👍

I have gotten a net since then……have you ever watched someone fight a big fish with 2x tippet on a 3wt fly rod…… where do you think the hook is the whole 10+ minutes they’re fighting it??? I mean give me a break…… if this fish is hooked bad then 100% it’s coming off of the hook immediately, but no sign of bleeding, the fish swam off unscathed & I landed it the flowing year on the spinner….. feel free to watch that video too & find something to ridicule if you like!👌🤙👍

@stonecold6972
@stonecold6972 3 месяца назад
Painful to watch that with no net. Maybe you have a net now but you talk about 6 years of history with that fish and still hadn’t got a net. Kind of crazy to be honest. And that’s before you consider the fact that you kept it hooked whilst “resting” it. Not ideal fella
@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620
@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 3 месяца назад
So here is what could’ve happened…..the first year I caught it, I could’ve videoed me putting it on a stringer and taking it out of the stream and killing it……. I’m thinking that might fall into the category of not ideal….. Fella……. however, my method of catch and release must’ve worked the first….second…..third…… fourth….. fifth……and yes, the sixth time and year. I’m not saying that it is the most appealing to the eye way to do it though…… even I look back now on how I used to land them and feel that I wish I would’ve had a net a long time ago 🤷‍♂️ but the reality of it is you can catch and release fish ethically and efficiently without a net as long as you keep them in the water and don’t keep them out of the water for more than a few seconds during each picture! What I just did was no different than a fly guy using 2 lb Tippett on a 3 wt fly rod…… 10+ minutes later the fish is landed! 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️ Meanwhile, the fish is completely drained of energy and where was the hook the whole time he was fighting it! 🤔 Growth as an angler is what it’s all about though, I have had a net for the last 4 years, I started pinching my barbs 2+ years ago, and I typically remove the hook as soon as the fish gets in the net! Growing as an angler is all one can do though when you truly love the sport & the fish….. Tight Lines & Cheers my friend!!!🤙👌🎣🍻

Well, I’m using 8 pound test so it’s kind of essential to horse these big fish a little bit to get them away from the cover, or I wouldn’t have landed half of the big fish I’ve ever hooked! You let them go where they want & you’ll only ever land under 50% of the big ones! From my past experiences anyhow…..👌
