Man, that's a handline, not no damn 'homemade rod' 🤨. People use these all over the world, just gotta learn how to cast and set the hook and you'll do better than the other guys.
Tie a small rock 2 inches above the hook really small but enough to give it some throw power. It'll carry its little weight a little further out n well uk uk throw a bobber on it so it won't sink to the floor and boom fish
Good old days lol. When I was a young lad, I too caught fish that way and it was so much fun. Days like that will never return but hope more young guys do that and enjoy there childhood. Awese video and thanks for bringing back good memories for me👍
My dad used to catch fish around similarly like that, he caught little minnows and had only one small hook and one small line, he only had help from his friends but mostly himself, and he used bread as bait and when he caught the fish he would fry it with oil, salt, and pepper, and they were like little snacks that they would enjoy, and it was hard to catch them even. Like if you lost the hook or line you would not be able to catch anymore fish until you would have enough money to get the replacement item.
Actually, I have a story for this lol. One time my dads said of the family went up north and they forgot my fishing pole and no one would let me borrow theirs. I really wanted to fish so I came up with the idea to make my own, i got a stick, found some old fishing line, and I had to look under rocks for worms. I DIDNT use a hook. Since I didnt have a hook, anytime i felt one single bite I would have to pull the stick out super fast. Anyways I did that for a while and I ended up getting a small bluegill:)
Homemade fishing pole is not a trash/garbage me and my older causin use homemade fishing pole and we always catch 8-12 fish every 3 hours Steps to make the perfect homemade fishing pole: 1.find the perfect stick (Bamboo stick is good too) 2.put your string and hook 3.put 2-3 inch stone to throw it further (A stick shaped stone is the best one) 4.your done but to make it evenmore perfect put rubber on the string (15-16 inch away from the hook)
This is how I fished in the river using bolts, washers,+ lug nuts as sinkers on 50-70lb test line in the '80's... Catching big carp, red horse, suckers, cat fish n bullheads
It's not as hard as you think. Once I went camping with a bunch of mates but we forgot our fishing rods and all our gear. We made a fishing rod out of a metal bar, the hook out of a safety pin, bacon for bait, no sinker, and guess what. We caught a 70cm eel.
Bro I caught a catfish with those exact things except I use the worm instead of powerbait it was a baby catfish but I still caught a catfish and what's funny is that I actually pulled it in and lost it well
We carried the string and hook attached to cardboard in our pockets. We have done this since the seventies. We had tons of lakes around where we lived and we caught grasshoppers and other bugs to fish. There were trees everywhere so you could make your own pole anytime. . But it's nice to see someone doing this now days.
If you go to Chain Bridge near Washington DC, about 5 miles South of Great Falls and past Little Falls you will see around 20 Spanish people using string wrapped around soda cans fishing on weekends. I think there are at least 5 people there daily. My guess is that they have no money or they are avoiding the need of a fishing license. What worries me is that they do not seem to take the Fish Cancer sign seriously. That sign is there because tons of Mercury was dumped in the river about 120 miles up river and is now part of the rock bed. Carp and other fish that hide in the mud have it in them now. The factory that did all the dumping was shut down long ago but nothing can be done to get the Mercury out.
apparently basic English isn't easy for you. also if you're one of those people who think hunting is better then fishing then you should know that I've killed birds and squirrels with rocks off the ground
Homemade fishing pole when I was young , he had a soup can nailed to a wood handle . That was are caster . You would wind the line on outside of soup can and put the sinker and hook inside the can . we could cast it out about 70 yards that way .
WHO FISHES UPSIDE DOWN LIKE HOW IS THAT EVEN A POSSIBILITY??? THATS LIKE SWINGING W THE WRONG END OF A GOLF CLUB WHERE IT SAYS "HOLD HERE" on the handle LOLOLLOOLOL
I once caught a 13 pound snapper on a bamboo real and my last bait after catching Kawai for an hour....it was awesome, don't underestimate homemade shell and bone Luers ither they work
Used to catch with bamboo pole, monofilament line, and hooks with worms/flours bait in my childhood in Nepal. Ngl, used to catch a lot of fish back then.
So funny story, I have a very large side to my dads family and they go camping every year, well I was about 13-14 and my dad forgot to grab the fishing poles so I found a sturdy stick and some string I found in a tree with a hook and created a stick rod and I fought a few fish with it suprisingly!
Omg I've done this before😂 I went fishing with my fam but I accidentally left my fishing pole at home then found fishing line and my sis felt bad bc I wanted to fish so badly so she improvised for me then I caught a little fish after abt 15 mins😂❤❤
In my country Zambia people use home made fishing rods for survival. And for money in 1 hour they can cath 6 fishes so us privileged people should not look down on them we should help them
I dont wanna hear your friend say a damn thing. Hes using a spinning combo while bolding it upside down and reeling it in backwards. Do your friend a favor and give him the stick until he learns the coreect way to do things lmao.
I’ve made my own fishing branch also with a tree branch but I used a paper clip and tape with a spinning thing I found to make a cast yours kinda sucked
You know all you need is a hook and string to catch fish you just learned something that people that know how to survive already knew not trying to be mean just you really believe that it wouldn't work it's also easy to catch fish with hand's
You should not a catch a fish they will die if you eat them imagine if you are a fish and somebody catches you with the fishing rod and it's you that no then why are you catching fish I don't matter if you are non veg but I am vegetarian you should not do that😢😢😢😢😢
I love fishing with a homemade fishing rod I do have real rod but I love the homemade rod more and I usually use bread or corn and catch lovely fish I always catch 15 plus
Ngl when I 1st started fishing it was with my step dad mates They all had these expensive fishing rods and reels All I did was ask them for some line and found a long stick and did some pole fishing and I still caught more than them I think it was over 13 fish in an hour
To i dit this i went some whete for FATHERS day and there ws a pond had no rode so i found some line somebody lost dag up a worm and used a stapel as a hook and caught 4 bluegill
If you tie a smaller stick to the end of the line, leave a little line left for a hook,BAM. BOBBER BABY. Ive used this method, better than a real bobber cuz those arent all natcher ell
i forgot my poles when i was going to go fishing a few weeks ago but had my hooks and line. tied the line around my index finger and threw the bait like a baseball and reeled it in by wrapping it around my finger. got a lot of bluegill and a couple bass doin it. it’s not as fun as a rod but fishing is fishin!
Me and my friends went to this dock one time and the water is full of old hooks and fishing like and sticks see where this is going and we didn't catch nothing but there is also dead blue crabs that you can use for bait perfect survival spot
If your hand throwing you need a lot more weight to get a good toss. Also don't wrap your line around the stick, spool it so when you throw it unwinds like a rope.
