I want Harstem to play some exhibition games against another pro where he has full vision and his opponent doesn't, to show us what a real pro with maphack would do.
I'd like to see this too. What does a pro player do with perfect information? Most understand the game well enough and how to scout that this may only be a minor advantage, but it'd be interesting.
@@markawilliams4860 It will still save you the resources needed to scout. The hacker in game was floating 600 gas because he didnt need sentries to scout, now imagine what a pro can do with 600 more free gas this early on + the amount of attention freed up from actively scouting.
I think a really good anti cheating system would be that the non-hacker gets the freewin, meanwhile the game goes on, and without the hacker knowing, the other guy is replaced with a 9k mmr AI that just smokes him until he taps out with just a blank look on his face. A pro player would be most fun, but that’s hard to automate.
now I'm imagining a pro-player response force equipped with pagers. get called 3 am in the night to show another hacker what happens when you fuck around
And their MMR is artificially inflated from the maphack. If they played at a Master league level AND were maphacking, they would be placed in Grandmaster. I'm surprised Harstem doesn't get this, it's inevitable that a maphacker in Master league would play at a Platinum level
GGs Blutmilan! You played well against a cheater. Wish Harstem could ask Blizzard to give you your MMR back for that last game and get you double MMR for winning the first one!
@@zachariastsampasidis8880 a hack that tricks blizzard into thinking wins are hacks. I'm not sure the methods, it's just actually easy to infer that. Tie hacks. A hack for ties.
BGMWSS Idea: open with sentries, make multiple Phoenix hallucinations and once they get close to an enemy that shoots up, recall them so they think you're mass Phoenix/Stargate. Meanwhile, go something other than Stargate.
Idiot, it's cold "getting beaten by grandmaster when doing a god awfull mind game" why the hell whould someone believe such an awfull and non logic mind game!!??
1) The opponent scouting sentries immediately excludes stargate builds and phoenix hallucinations are super standard and 2) you can tell by the damage they take that they're hallucinations anyway also 3) opening phoenix does not in any ways imply mass phoenixes or multiple stargates. This basically has 0 chance of making someone fall for it. There is also no need to recall phoenixes anyway unless you're getting attacked at home and you need them fast, so that part is also just weird.
I want Blizzard to do the thing where cheaters get matched against cheaters, then keep the replays themselves. I want to see cheaters accusing each other of cheating. They are the fastest to make accusations. Seriously, if you get called a map hacker, watch the replay. There's a higher than average chance that the person calling you a hacker is a hacker.

It's really nice to see Harstem happy and joyful, and giving compliments to Blutmilan, whom you can feel he's rooting for. Please send more replays like this !
I was prepared to be furious for watching this video as I also got map hacker before, but not sure why I feel so calm after watching it as the captain comments on it lol
how do you recover your ego, when u cheat , and loose anyways. i realy want to know how they manage to do that, because this is impressive. or are they so delusional that they don't realize how bad this is ?
Maphackers are usually several leagues down from the people they play with. Blutmilan is 5k GM I think, so the maphacker is probably Diamond or Masters at most.
@@hetaresgaming7771The matchmaking system must be the absolute best anti-cheat system possible. The fact that they maphack has already been factored in by the matchmaking system and everything else they do will just be so much worse than their opponents. For example how good is a silver league player if you give them the ability to see everything on the map? Diamond league? Okay then match them against a diamond player. 😂 Do they really have an unfair advantage at that point?
Hartstem, these video's are to me also one of the best of your content, just laughing my ass off nonestop, I love it! "finds them... mistargets the adept... xDDD Pure gold, thank you Kevin and the people who send u these replays.
I would love to see a series where pro gamers with full map vision take on multiple high ranked opponents! Let's see how someone with true skill can take advantage of map hacks.
I wonder what sc2 would look like if two pros both (knowingly) had maphacks. It would be weird because cheese wouldnt work but they would both constantly be trying to counter the other
Even a map hacker who is good at hiding could never get away with it on a competitive level for long. At some point, you can only take the punches for so long before you react too early.
Detective Harstem on the case once again! Love the diversity of content you put out. You might consider throwing in an analysis of egregious smurfing every once in a while. Like mediocre GMs beating up on low diamond players for kicks, which should absolutely be illegal. Could even play on IoDIS. Is this a smurf or do I suck? Although sorting through those replays sounds hellish. Delegate to Hamster?
You can't expect maphackers to have the same level of knowledge and nuanced thought process as players of the level they play against with. It's always poor decision making that is included, only reason why some even win is through sheer luck of exploiting counter builds if they have the braincells to do so. I always make it a rule that when maphackers are involved, it's always a level or two down the rank they currently have.
How about a deception game show, where you play a Bo3 against another pro, you get to have map hacks in one of the games, and they try to guess which game you maphacked?
I have a definite hack, no investigation needed (although I am sure it would be fun), however it is from heart of the swarm and I think old replays can't be watched any more or something? Maybe I should see if I can find it.
I played with map hacking for shits n giggles on custom games in wc3 back in like 2006 specifically on sheep tag just cause i was positive i was going against map hackers occasionally and i made sure not to abuse the info unless it felt like my opponents were also map hacking. Seeing somebody map hack and barely be skilled enough to beat the campaign is hilarious
I have like 5 or more replays in which I have encountered cheaters using maphack or a trick to get 200/200 with a single supply depot. But I don't know if Blizzard does anything to them when they reported them.
I have really old replays of a hacker who has been sniping me on ladder from 2 years ago, not sure if you wanna watch them, Harstem I'll assume you prefer replays from current patch?
I'm confused - if he's maphacking, wouldn't we see him panning to his opponent's base to see what's going on? Or does maphacking only show the minimap?
it would be cool to have an event where you experiment with how much a maphack could actually do.Like the captain against a pro player with a skill level of a dark or clem etc... :D
@harstem How do I submit a hacker replay to you? I recently played against a player that hacked 100% and didn't even hide it. But then why would he hide it. He created his account 2 days ago.
15:45 You can especially tell that he's a lower level player with map hacks because he's warping in only zealots and not using rapid-fire, he's manually warping each one. granted, I'm sure there are high level players who don't use rapid-fire warp-ins, but if so... why?
A little joke at the end I presume "Il report him to Blizzard, he will be out in no time". I dont believe anyone at Blizzard cares one bit about such things.
