Catching BIG Early Spring Pompano Surf Fishing 

It's funny when you recognize your regular spot in a video and see someone actually catching keepers there.

Where can I buy the pompano floats in bulk . I want to see make the rigs. I have a bunch of family going to be coming down.will be much cheaper

I do this sometimes. I think with the Fishbites it’s more scent than anything. But the presentation with a float helps make the bait look bigger.

If you were there the same week I was, Mother Nature was your foe - a cold front, neap tide and no wave action

Yeah it was very cold and windy, and know one else was catching anything do you think next year if it is better weather i will catch more?

Is there a neap tide every year at that time or does it change

@@alex_bones5764 There is a neap tide every month - there are lots of apps that show the tidal flows (I've already told my wife that our next trip will be planed around the tide) Ryan, at Lost Bay Tackle, suggested Little Lagoon - the tide isn't as big of a factor. Next year? As far as pompano go - and if you believe what Larry Finch preaches - the big factor is water temperature. They migrate based on water temp and this year it stayed cooler longer. (When I was there, the water temp was 63 and the pomp like water closer to 70) Another thing - and I'm sure the other folks will weigh in on this - you need to cast to the front or the back of the sandbars. The fish are looking for what the waves uncover in the sand and it's the crashing waves that stir the sand. In between is where you have a better shot at red and black drum - but I'm no expert.
