My first crappie trip of the year was an amazing trip, we had a massive rain which had me a little concerned about going we had almost a foot of rain. The crappie were in deep water but they were shallow in the water column around 5 to 2ft. Most of the time if the bait was right on them they would bite. I started off using 1/16oz pink head with a 2in blue and charturse gunslinger plastic bait then i switch to 1/16oz little stumpy us both 17 and 15ft rod with 10lb test line Mono.
