I love dragging bandit crank baits for crappies. Just sit back and troll around and pick them off. And the good thing about it is the bigger crappies attack them. Nice video, thanks!

@scarecrow6741
@scarecrow6741 5 лет назад
@@fishingaddict5638 I use bandit 300's in the summer. With lite line they will get down 12-15'. Which around here is the perfect depth because the water temp drops the most around 15'. Drag them slow.

@fishingaddict5638 5 лет назад
Which model do you use? A lot of nice looking lures.
@scarecrow6741
@scarecrow6741 5 лет назад
@@fishingaddict5638 I use all three, in shallow water in the spring fall I use the 100 and 200 series. In the summer I use the 300 series. I buy them directly from Bandit, www.banditlures.com/. I always start with the shad colored crank baits. They look like the natural food that crappies eat. Water clarity and sun light conditions would make me move to other colors if needed. Buy a few of them and toss them around like you are doing with them jigs in your video so you can get a handle on the colors and depth that works for you. If you are going to troll with them, just try to run them down to the depth you want and pull them SLOW as your boat will drag them. Good luck.

Just got back from Clearlake today. I got really motivated by view your video prior to hitting the lake. When I got to the lake, it was really tough fishing. Caught 11 lbs catfish on 4 lbs test line while going after crappies. I got a few questions. 1. How to tell baitfish from crappies 2. If using two jigs, what are the top and bottom jig weights. 3. What is the sensitivity setting for side scan. It has been a demoralizing venture in trying to figure out how to catch crappies.
@fishingaddict5638
@fishingaddict5638 5 лет назад
Bait fish in CL is darker and looks like small dots. The fish usually shows as lines. In deeper water both are 1/16. My sensitivity is set to 7. Summer is a lot harder to find then winter. They move a lot.
@kevintran4855
@kevintran4855 5 лет назад
Thanks again for sharing. One of the earliest video that I have seen from you show that you and your wife fishing in the delta for crappies. She thought that she had a fish on the line but had missed the bite. You in turn uttered the phrase, “set the hook.” Your wife angrily responded, “Honey!” I thought it it was so cute interaction between husband and wife. Whenever my wife messes up on a task or expresses her frustration on something, I would use your phrase, “set the hook!”
