Toshi and I had a lot of fun on the Rideau river catching Pike on Spinnerbait. There is nothing like a bite on spinnerbait, especially from a toothy critter! Watch the video and see how I fish for Pike and Bass with a spinnerbait.
That is a very good question, since usually, in March, it is ice fishing season. This year however, it is either too dangerous due to the high temperature we got or you are thinking about open water. I have never fished open water in March so I cannot really tell you what worked for me in the past; however, the water is still very cold and the fish are not very reactive most times. So I would go with live minnows, jigging at the bottom, like I would do if there were ice. Good Luck.
