Love your piloting of the 420R Grant, by the way are you using ZZR tyres here ? Very recently took delivery of my 420R SV and on a learning curve; definitely the best sports car I've ever owned and I wasn't expecting that !
Thank you Paul. BTW did you recently post on PistonHeads ref nose cone fitting? Anyway, yes I was on ZZRs. It was my first time on track in my 420R, and my first time using ZZRs, so was taking it relatively easy. They’re great tyres on track, but avoid for road use. Congrats on your 420R. Was it brand new? They’re great fun and it’s very enjoyable taking the time to learn driving them.
You had more grip and confidence than the Atom, both in and upon approach of the corners. Imo, I would of chosen a lap to exit Charles quicker - you definitly had the grip to do so - tucked up tight and run his slip-stream through Cooper Esses, and then sent one up the inside into Shaw's Harpin, then run a defensive line all the way down to Gerades Bend again. By then your superior grip and confidence through the corners would do the rest. When not running Stapeltons, Edwina's, Bus Stop, Mallory is a quick circuit so easy for grunt to keep the quicker guys behind. Shame you weren't running Stapeltons and Edwina's.
