Awesome video Jeff! Seeing those scrapers working is so satisfying. Definitely one of my favorite videos of yours and can’t forget about the best ending clip ever 😎👍🏻
First comment. Being first gets me those valuable "Paydirt Points" which I can redeem for awesome swag, like broken Cat parts or used Anderson Construction shop towels! Thank you for another great video. I really enjoy seeing where all your subscribers come from. Oh, and I commented before Linda again. Neener.
I got to say, I sure do miss running our 637s Joe Vicini inc Placerville ca. We mined clay sand, gold, built roads, pads you name it. I almost got killed on one. Climbing up a ramp to the top of a 100ft cut it died empty .back down I came, the oil was cold and the can would not drop, breaks what breaks, I bit a hole in the seat with my ass, it ended up sideways on the ramp, the front was hanging of one side with 15ft of air and the stinger was the same. lucky the can socked in. if it would of gone forward I would have gone 4 to 500ft down though the brush. after I unfroze I had to clime up over the goose neck the steps were 15ft off the ground. Needless to say I was shook up. It was 20 years ago But like yesterday in my head . Thank God in still hear. John Wunschel Placerville ca OLD HANGTOWN ca
Ah - Ha the ole thermostat problem. Happened to me one time, a plastic shower curtain over the grill helped bring up the temp. Don't everyone have an old shower curtain in your vehicle?
I like you up close and personal views of scraper workings love to see how these behemoths work. It's cold here -22 this week got so ding dang cold my words froze coming out of my mouth had to go by the wood stove to find out what I was saying have a great week.
Triple digit , supa truckin , trash talkin , chikin truck door delete kit ! Chew a toothpick slap the dash n mash the gas whoop whoop ...dayum was that chikin coop open my side east bound ? 😂🤣 Thanks Buddy !
Good video, glad that rock didn't jam and damage the scraper blade. As for the coloring book what do you mean the grandkids will enjoy it, I'm layed up from surgeries still and I'm loving it, it's a great way to pass the time. The new hats look great, put one aside for me.
🥃🥃🥃 AWESOME VIDEO - AWESOME SPEEDRUN - AWESOME DRONE .... GOOSEBUMPS ON THE FREEWAY CLIMB (JUST THE RIGHT RECORD SPEED FOR [CRANK-IT-UP] ) HA "he he" .......Beautiful scenery and that snow was perfect.. (Can't believe those cows didn't investigate the goings on, seems like whenever we buried rock piles in Minnesota, them milkers were always snooping. BE SAFE - KEEP THE BURNER OIL TANKS FULL. 😍😍😍
Very entertaining and some great camera angles, thanks for taking the trouble! I'm retired now and I always wish I had had the chance to try scrapers, I know it is hard but it sure looks fun, I' m always amazed at the amount of space out there, here in the UK we are real cramped.
Mr Jeff, Merry Christmas and happy New year! My name is Peter Volk from Tabernash CO. I haul logs here in the state with a 1982 KW. Has a big cam 3 Cummins. Just finished putting a used cam in it a couple weeks ago. Seems to be running good for what it is! I like the dirt working videos, my buddies own an excavating company here in town. They let me use the shop 😜 take care Jeff!
New subscriber sir. Well fairly fairly new. Love all your videos and love the fact that your are such a professional with everything you do. Thank you for your work and for being true mans man.
When you speed up the video in the lowboy the engine sounds very much like a v-12 detroit I used to drive I'm sure the c-15 is embarrassed. Merry Christmas.
Did I hear 35?? Well Hell you aren’t a day past 40 I’m i right??!!😂😂 Paydirt wishing you and your family A Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year. This doesn’t mean I won’t be watching ya. From Your Best Kansas Farmer Subscriber!!!!!
Hello Jeff, and as usually love your videos and the thought put into them to inform and teach and let people know the progress behind moving dirt and everything involved with it. Even the good to the bad. Very informative. But was wondering if you ever tried using fine macro fabric for your aircleaners to help get longer life out of them and also for being able to just shake the dust macron fabric to get more time in-between the cleaning of them. Hope you gave it a shot and worked for you as it does down here in Australia. Next thought is have you ever given thought to making brackets for the operation seats in your scrapers. We have and made custom brackets to mount the seats at about between 20 and 30 degrees off centre to help the operators loading thier bowls so by the end of the day, they get more production as thier necks are less tired and fatigued. It truly works and as the new scraps have the offset seat for that reason. Less neck and upper body movements makes for more productive operators. It's the same principle as the high sprockets cats having thier seats offset, so they don't have to turn around so much to see ripping, which I know you probably would agree with that. Just thoughts and keep on keeping on. Rule #1, WHEN IN DOUBT, TACH IT OUT, WITH ROLLIN THE BLACK SMOKE.
One scraper has a adjustable seat, mine. because I have vision in my left eye only so I know about my neck being on a swivel LOL the other machines have stock seats and I think from the factory there maybe 15 degrees?
Good morning Jeff, once again thank you for the video etc. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your Family A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Take care my friend and catch you next time 😎👍🇬🇧.
@@eddierotary I have had a lot of large irrigation wells drilled. Hearing a 1271 on a pony pulling a sand pump in an 800 ft hole is a sound I will never forget. A 3406 on a cable tool is just not something that's memorable.
Love seeing the Cats blow those black puffs. Used to love watching them puff like that when I was a kid and diesel was high sulfur. Oh the smell used to be heavenly!
I love your channel, could you answer a question , when you have three machines working push-pulling how do you keep all three working equally?I am sure you want to maximize every machines capacity. thanks
Mike Norris Litchfield,MI. I just found your channel, my father was a mechanic on heavy equipment for as long as I could remember I love what you do and am in the process of watching all your old video's, just a side note, your dad had a wabco 333 I think it was anyway my dad had one in his inventory and he hated it also, he was always complaining about the electric everything, I was on a job with him as a kid and I'm not sure what or why but it fell apart at the pivot which I thought was awesome (1) lol, anyway your channel is awesome (2) he he, keep up the fantastic job
Definitely getting deja vu from most of this, I'm sure that same tyre's blown in at least three vids. Owner of that land should probably just start a quarry, or get you to build one huge rock pile to one end of it, lol.
Great all round video bro, some of that dirt you 2 were playing in almost looks like volcano ash. Anyway all the best from way way down under here in NZ
@@Jpaydirt i would never do this again but at the time conditions were favorable cool out to keep tires and brakes cooled down i did this regularly on hwy 101 in Northern Ca kik the trk out of gear and let er go at night always
I really dig these push pull scrapers. I know scrapers are hell on operator's backs, but I goddam want to get my arse in one. I'd rather not start in a little 613. I'm going to have a word with a foreman this week to ask about the possibilities of getting a day in a 621. Wish me luck, good people.
I've some relatives in Tasmania that I've never met. My Grandmother was a Staehli from Switzerland, 1 of 13 siblings, some immigrated to the US and the rest to Tasmania.
OMG!! I can't believe you cut The Cowboy song!!!! I can see bleeping, because this is a family channel, but to blatantly cut it like that!!! Geez Jeff... LOL 😎 Maybe next time??
Man, that was some awesome scraper footage! I'm sure your thermostat issues are fixed by now, but did you guys try covering a portion of the radiator? Gotta watch you don`don't block air to the aftercooler or any oil coolers you might have. Anyhow, you`ve probably already got it figured thanks again for the video bud, will
Good angles of the cameras. Like the helium talk going up the ramp! So I have to ask why do you go through those tires? Weight? Just curious since they are odd sizes. Merry Christmas and thanks for the time 👍👍👍👍
Hey Jeff. What do you think about a video on how to properly shift an 18 speed? I can rebuild one but never been taught how to drive a truck with one. Merry Christmas from southern Oregon!
When you are push-pulling with the pans, which is harder to drive properly, the front one or the rear one? In dog-sled only the lead dog get's a change of scenery. Is it the same driving the rear pan? Or, do you do stuff to make the work more fun? Like not latching the hook or decreasing power when you should be increasing or over-pushing. How do you make it fun to run the pans all day long?
Happy Holidays Mr. Paydirt. Love all your work. Especially all the variety of camera angles and shots, very cool stuff. Question??? Can you explain the purpose of covering over the rock areas? Do they farm on them after? Why wouldn't you level it and make it flat for farming? Keep up the GREAT work and videos!!! Long time Sub, CHAZ Phoenix AZ
I think the farmer wants to plant that extra acreage into hay ( cows in the next field ). The land is watered with sprinkler pipe so the land doesn't have to be flat. Also it would take a lot of explosives to level that lava.
I was taking my wife and a wee little toddler out from home here in the Sierras to visit my brother in St Anthony for thanksgiving in ‘97 and was quite surprised to get passed on the freeway outside of Pocatello by a fuel truck (tandem semi’s) in the fast lane going about 70 on packed snow and ice. It is a feeling I will never forget having my vehicle being moved sideways on the ice by the force of air coming from a fuel truck passing me in the fast lane. The point of this story is that guy didn’t give two shits about hauling all that fuel at that speed on ice and I would bet he was a lot like you at that age. Honestly, he wasn’t being unsafe unless somebody did something stupid in front of him. I guarantee he wasn’t over 30 years old. I haul a wide load for a living out here on the left coast and I am not the crazy bastard I used to be taking chances or rushing. Life is just too short to get in a hurry. I appreciate each and every one of your posts.
When I was just a lad I had a run through some mountains and for about a hour drove in real dense fog driving semi. There were guys in the hammer lane not slowing a bit didn’t take long and I was in hammer lane also drove that way for years wouldn’t even consider doing that now would probably just pull over and wait it out
Come through your area on Monday headed to lake Powell with some John Deere equipment never saw ya very disappointed I'll try again next Wednesday u can find me at the local revenue collectors office right off the interstate😠
