You know, I watched different videos watching dozers work from D6s to D9s , but watching the D10s and D11s they are just captivating. I could just sit here and watch them all day long . Like this big fella.
It never ceases to amaze me how many people know absolutely everything. You’d have to know the job site and requirements/limits to have an idea WHY he’s doing what he’s doing. And people....spelling DOES count.... Great video!
Monster Tube The experts infuriate me with how they always have a better way to do it without knowing the context about the situation. I’ve even had them critique an operator for low productivity on vintage equipment that’s being demonstrated at Steam Rally’s.
Stokey had 2 D10,s back in the 90s working on a reclamation coal site for Wimpey mining , I watched them for hours every chance I had ,even had a ride in the 777, trucks and diggers , 1st time I'd seen a d10.
I worked for a Cat dealership for 20 years. Caterpillar Tractor is an amazing company with an extensive worldwide dealership and parts network that is second to none.
What great video, thanks for uploading. I really enjpoyed watching it! As far I can judge it, this chap does a pretty good job. I see no track slippage during ripping and he gets a full blade in under 10 seconds, even going uphill. Anyone noticed this D11T has a standard SU blade, but also the additional carrydozer counterweight on th ripper box? Probably for increased shank penetration.
@@AwesomeEarthmovers It is a lovely machine. Is it a good thing to load the bucket so full so quickly? I know it may have something to do with the geology of the area, excavating a hollow more than a wide bench, but it seems he's digging for a short run and then carrying a long way. Also, I know operators can't see their blades filling up, which is why side videos like this can help operators know how they are operating and get even more efficient. Great video.
My dream is to be on site when one of those is working. My 1/16 scale model of this is sitting right next to that giant mining dump truck that I have. I’m just not a huge fan of the white noise back up alarm though.
Exhaust tubes pointed foreword..... To keep exhaust away from operator cab. Doors closed or not AND. Exhaust noise away from cab.......stops rumble and vibration ARM CHAIR OPERATOR HERE
HEY PRODUCTION DOZER..... This operator is simply doing the “PLAN OF THE DAY”. Set forth by the manager or owner.... You know......the guy “Who Writes The Check!”
Construction Machines Channel Believe it or not that gravel has been tested and found to be as hard as concrete. There’s a shot in the drone video I posted a couple of days ago where you can see the ripper struggle a little to get into it and it puts up a cloud of smoke from the friction.
@@AwesomeEarthmovers Seems to me a few scrapers moving that gravel with the 11 ripping would move a bunch more material. Gravels can form conglomerate and it can be a natural concrete. Have some on my property - had to jackhammer to install foundations. Some cut slopes have weathered for 40 years and looks like with was excavated last week.
FatCatGotHot If it has anything to do with the seatbelt it will tell the site manager that the tongue is plugged in to the catch, it won’t tell him if the seatbelt is behind the seat or under the drivers arse! 🤪🤪
Doesn't Parker Schnabel on Gold Rush own a D11 and a couple D10's for stripping overburden in the Yukon. He strips up to 30' in some places with permafrost.
Yeh thanks John I ran my own dozers d7g doing ag work earth tanks etc never had that hp but cold do a 2,000 yd dam in 10hrs You see in that situation I pay the running costs.. anyhow I have gained a lot from watching RU-vid of machine operation in various differing environments
@@frankbertola3662 your right to much full length pushing for every blade full I usually start from front and work my way back into cut fill blade in short distance and get push to tip head in only third of the time instead of pushing every load full length of cut every time like to see rock boiling in front of blade not just going for a Sunday drive otherwise waste of power and production. seen smaller machines out push big brothers this way in volume....
100% Canadian probably one of those headbangers extinction rebellion dislikes anything with fossil fuels, gets around on a skateboard being towed by a car
I find that exhausts pointed to the front of the machine at that hight to be a bad choice for the operator...they should be a bit higher and point straight up...
Work on those babies every day in northern Canada, thank christ for Tier4 emissions, I make a shit pile of cash fixing cheap wiring harnesses, chinese made sensors, and cracking NRS coolers that leak coolant into the intake n fuck everything up.... Id take an older D11T and make this new one eat crow.
John Bridge So you’d have to buy a 657 scraper and pay an operator as well as have the dozer there to rip the material and push the scraper? Sounds very efficient to me 😂
@@AwesomeEarthmovers Spoken just like a dealer, rather than s contractor! Anyone with a D11, is not likely to ONLY have a D11, so I was simply advising that using a dozer pushing this distance, is not profitable, unless it's the only machine you have.
John Bridge I can tell you for a fact this site with its terrain would not suit a scraper. It’s also in the U.K where I’m pretty sure there’s not one 657 scraper to match the D11. The dozer is on a long term contract to a quarry to rip and push a set amount of gravel towards a screening system. The D11 and one operator can satisfy the quarries needs by working 6 hour days. They don’t need a scraper, it would be pointless having double the operators and machines.
I have never operated a machine anywhere near this size but i always found when you had a blade of dirt when the motor started to ease off it was Time to go back and get another blade full you did not keep running until you had nothing left in front of blade .that extra 50 feet or more is only wearing out track gear and fuel obviously not an owner operator.Nice machine drooling.
That has to be the most boring job in the world. I would like to try an awesome maschine like that, but after 5 mins, i'd be bored doing the same shit over and over again.
