Welcome back to the channel, in this video I go over how to set up and use the feature called sequence assist on Cat 621/23/27K, and 631/37K series motor scrapers. This feature Simplifies scraper operation by automating many of the tasks an operator performs when preparing for loading, hauling and dumping. Sequence Assist uses position-sensing cylinders to “record” the implement positions for each stage of the work cycle.
I hope that you find some use in this video if you are running one of these scrapers.
Thanks for watching!

Thanks for showing us that, (this is the missus yt account) iv been a plant operator for 26 years, and done my time on everything including 5 years on a 637 E in a gravel quarry. Now im just on a 30 ton excavator doing odd jobs. I refused to use the GPS computer crap, im old school all done by eye and feel. Done 4 years on a 980G sales loader loading crushed rock on to road tippers. What your 627k has is all to do with reducing operator fatigue, because doing 120 loads a day of the same cut depths and fill levels increases operator fatigue and boredom, reducing productivity. Also keeps the cut & fill areas more level, because those scrappers are so uncomfortable. I still reckon articulated 6 wheel dumpers are worse. Anyway take care from Australia.👍

Thanks for the comment! The other thing that these kinds of features do is help new inexperienced operators be more productive faster. The younger generations like this kind of stuff, it’s how we get them interested in the industry.

Thanks for watching - it’s these ease of use tools that will foster in the next era of operators though, as much as us old school guys like the fact that we did it without, the new kids like this kind of stuff and it draws them into the industry.

Nice video Nathan. When i was running 627s they were B models with no electronics or cabs. The ones I ran were Push-pulls. They have come a long way since then. I also have had time on 621Bs and TS 14 Euclids

How do you recommend getting into something like this as a newbie? Ive been a transport driver for years, would really like to get into operating.
@Dylan_Mulvaney_OFFICIAL
@Dylan_Mulvaney_OFFICIAL 9 месяцев назад
I wouldn't recommend scrappers or 6 wheel articulated dumpers, too rough on the body and boring. I'd recommend still doing smaller civil jobs to watch and learn smaller machines, then step up to a quarry operating dump trucks.

First think look up whatever regulations there might be in your region as far as licenses or certifications go, make sure you get them first. Then the Biggest piece of advice I’ll give you is don’t expect to get put in the high caliber grade wages right off the bat, moving the equipment on and off a trailer is very different then actually using it. You have to be willing to start out on some of the more grunt work machines like compactors for example. Just start sending resumes man! Every contractor is looking for operators.

What's the idea of the cushion hitch on these new scrapers compared to the old?
@ironman3406
@ironman3406 Год назад
Well Cats have had cushion hitches since the late 70’a early 80’s so it’s nothing new for Cat - but there is a hydraulic cylinder between the tractor and the scraper that had a nitrogen charged accumulator in the circuit, it lets the scraper and the tractor go over bumps independently making for a smoother ride between the two and the a smoother ride for the operator.
