Well if you thought getting #1 and #2 out was fun, just wait until you get a load of this episode. Have you ever had to use a hydraulic 10 ton porta power to separate a con rod from the crank, well you are about too!! Stay tuned and we will get down to a bare block by the end of the video. Lots of rusty parts to go through and salvage in order to get a good batch of parts to use to rebuild the engine back. Stay tuned for more on this project as we keep plugging away at it. Thanks for watching, please like and subscribe to keep up when the next segment will come out.

Doing good. The worst part of a restoration is tearing it all down. Putting together a bunch of clean, shiny pieces is always a good reward for the skinned knuckles and rust in your eyes…

Always fun when you gotta get out the portable jack! 😂 That's when you know something is *really* stuck! Nice work on the teardown Nathan 🔧🔩 I can understand losing footage due to bad language.. Happen to us all 🤣 Trust me. Looking forward to the next video on the series. Happy wrenching and stay safe 🙂👍

Something you might want to consider when you are having enough trouble to use dirty words is instead of not using the footage is just to mute/edit it out and do a voice over. You will never make me blush using dirty words cause we all have our days and moments. It's a real world and we all get frustrated from time to time. Thanks for bringing us along.

Thanks Terry, my editing software wont allow me to just remove the audio from on certain part of the clip, so the only option that I have until I upgrade my computer is to remove the footage. I try to keep it as clean as I can so that if kids are watching or listening in the background I am not being a bad influence to them.

Looking at the main bearing arrangement made me curious if this design was influenced by marine engines of this era. You need an apprentice for all that cleaning. Loving this journey Nathan, Hang in there Sir, thank you.

Hi Ray thanks for watching sir - I’m sorry I can’t answer your question about the marine design. It’s lots of cleaning for sure. We will get a running engine out of is all yet!

I was fortunate in that there was no rust on the rods, caps or rod bolts on mine, they came free rather easily. I never removed the water pump from mine. With tightening the packing nuts it held water to a slow drip, which I thought was amazing for a machine which hadn’t run since the forty’s. Did I see a weld bead on the water jacket of #4? The 3 cylinders I had to replace all had vertical welds on them but got lucky with excellent replacements. Keep it up, it’s good entertainment for an old man in the winter. 👍

She looks like she needed that "Come to Jesus meeting". 😉👍 A guy kept trespassing on my property one day. I stepped out to talk to him. Him and two younger men, his sons, were hootin' and jivin' as I walked up. I explained to them my wife was sleeping and worked nights and not to snowmachine by my house any more. They puffed up and got a little curt telling me they could do whatever they wanted. I took a strong look at each of them and responded as I begin to puff up... " Well, I can see that nice don't work." As I continue to speak I also continue to puff up and get louder and closer to them. " But I do know that mean nasty an awful always works." By that time I was in there face .... and, I like to say, "I told them what God told Moses." Because there was flying rocks and burning bushes. They NEVER drove through there again.

Could be some fun turning parts machines into something inspired by the Boirault machine. Likely a driveway princess for those snowbound with a penchant for track pressing.
@ironman3406
@ironman3406 Год назад
I’m not sure how accurate it is that Holt and CL Best were inspired by the Boirault machine. Holt created their first crawler in 1913 and CL Best in 1915. I’ve never seen any literature to support your statement. It will be more than a driveway princess when we’re done.
