Thanks for sharing this. I grew up part of my life in Columbus,Mississippi as child back in the 60's. Some of my earliest fishing memories are fishing the Tombigbee and Buttahatchee rivers as well as Grenada Lake. You brought back a lot of childhood memories for me, thank you. By the way, I still love my fishing at 63 years old and spend a lot of my time fishing for Smallmouth Bass and trout in east Tennessee.

I love all your videos. This jugging video brought back some great memories of me & my dad when he was still with us. We loved limbing, trotting, & jugging here in Mobile Alabama on the Mobile River... Now my dad is gone so I'm showing my 13 yr old daughter this way of fishing. SHE LOVES IT & ANYTHING INVOLVING OUR BOAT & A RIVER!!! IT'S ALL ABOUT GOD, FAITH & FAMILY TO ME & TRYING TO BE HALF THE DAD MY DAD WAS!!! GOD BLESS & MUCH LOVE FROM MOBILE ALABAMA.

Get a 5 or 6 ft threaded handle and a Paint roller handle, strip of the extra hardware so you only have the shaft left, . Use that like a gaff to catch the drop lines under your floats. so there is no need to reach over the side and grab them by hand. Enjoyed that Video!

They work really good . Use them all the time . I use 125 lb. Test nylon line for the main line with no5 o hooks . Use swivels on both ends of the line . That way it makes it harder for the fish to get twisted up and get off .

Appreciate the noodle making tips, I made up 20, but used 3/4 PVC and cut up an old axle to put inside.

I saw the ones in Walmart that work the same way so I decided I wasn't going to pay Wally World for something I can make. Mine are different than yours somewhat but it is very close also. I used a pretty good chunk of lead to make mine and they work perfectly just as yours do. I'm glad to see another person can do what I do for fun. LOL I live close to Waco, Texas but I used to live in Clarksdale and Tutwiler, Mississippi. I worked for 12 years at Parchman.

Just wanted to say you'd catch more if you Put you weight on the very bottom of the line and tied on more than one swivel and hook. Means a little more bait but puts the bait in two different zones and catches more fish than the single hook set up. Plus it keeps the hook from snagging stuff on the very bottom. Try it and see if it doesn't increase your catch rate.

Great video man! You got yourself another subscriber. I’m from Mississippi too. I lived in Tupelo for awhile but have moved back down south Mississippi where I’m originally from. About 30 miles north of Hattiesburg. Been doing a lot of catfishing myself lately. Fishing on Okatoma river and catching some nice sized tabby’s and channel cats.

Like the design seen some . I use the pex - blue or red it saves a little money and about 14 " of bright color noodle but if red or blue then white duck tap band to see them easy at night. I have a snap swivel on each end and in the middle with only an inch outta each end & the pool noodles gorilla glued to the pex almost always using the center snap swivel because it's harder to be submerged. 50 lovers can't hold it down long . I do t cap the ends . Hope you can picture that & try a few . Have a Blessed Day Sir 🕊 💜 🙏

Looks very close to mine, but I've tweaked it a little bit. I silence my metal slides with foam pieces on each end because I've seen fish get spooked by it. I use tarred twine instead of mono. I use monster noodles & glue them in place with expanding foam. I also only use forged hooks. Looks like you may have the eagle claw circle hook. They hook very well, but blue cats will straighten them. Perfect for only channels, though.

I just thought of something .If you were to run a coat hanger into the top cap of your noodle and make a loop with it on the outside you could easily make a grab pole with a hook so your not having to bend down in the boat to collect the noodles and bring the onto the boat. Just a thought.
@heathschwab

good video I've seen them made mine don't have the metal in side but i made 10 years ago. mine probably need new noodles been a few years since i used but i finally got another boat and hope once my trucks fixed i get to go jugging. now 20 years ago used 2 and 3 liters. but my fav was the 2 little mountian dew bottle being it looked like a cigar bobber. but been jugging over 20 years so much fun but i have to use a hook to get them in. bad back and knees so can't bent over or kneel down to catch the noodles. thanks for sharing sir. god bless.

Great vid Thanks I hadn't realized there was apiece of metal inside, that makes a perfect bobber. I had seen a similar type of fishing but they just used 20oz pop bottles with the line tied at the cap, but your way works much better. You caught some nice catfish but I didn't see any like we have up here in Connecticut which we call bullhead or mud pout. Our DEEP started stocking Channel Catfish some time ago in certain rivers and ponds/lakes but I haven't caught 1 of those yet. Thanks again and I do like seeing your time off activities so post away Tim I enjoy them.

Heres a good idea, if you have a broom handle you can put a big magnet on the end and put some of those rare earth metal magnets on the top of the noodle, then you dont have to bend over so far, its what i do, and unless the fish is super big its pretty easy to get the noodle out of the water just enough to only bend over a little

@CaptJimmysLivingTheDreamFishin
I have my 3 Grand Children coming down for their annual Week Long Summer visit. I live on the Gulf Coast. We always try and go offshore fishing when their down... Problem is, the wind gets to blowing and makes it to rough to go. We will still go crabb'n and piggy perch fish'n etc. But, now, thanks to your video, were gonna go cat fishin too So We have a little Flat Bottom Boat we can use for the river. So today. I went and bought all the items you listed in your other jug making video. Im going to cut things out, and wait till the grand kids get here and HAVE THEM put it together so they will know how. We have the Brazos River near by, so there should be plenty of catfish to catch. Ive sent them a couple of your youtubes to watch so they will have an idea of whats going on with the building and the fish'in part... I told them what we were gonna do, and they seem excited. Ages 5-12.... Do you have a facebook also? here they are on a previous summer. fish'n part starts about 4:16 vimeo.com/134683927

I have made a lot of fishing noodles but I don't have near the $ invested in mine. I use the PVC and pool noodles but i just drill small holes in the PVC about an inch from each end take a medal coat hanger cut it and put it though the noodles and PVC and bend each end around on the bottom side I put a loop in my line and put a piece of coat hanger wire through the hole in the PVC and through the loop in my line anywhere from two to 6 feet of line
