Steve, I'll not see 76 years again and each time I see watch your videos, it takes me back to fishing for catfish in the heart and cannonball rivers of North Dakota with my Granddaddy. I don't think we ever caught one over five, maybe six pounds at best. When I see you pulling 60# plus I think, Mercy, what good fortune to be able to watch someone catch those large cats and so carefully return them for another day. God Bless.
Hi Steve. We’ve been watching your videos since you began posting them on RU-vid. They are both fun to watch and educational. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge. This past Friday, April 3, my 8 year old son and I left before daybreak for an early morning fishing trip. He was so excited to “be out while it was still dark”, as he described in his own words and to see the morning fog moving across the water. We used cut bait which were white bass heads from the previous evening’s catch. We also used the Santee Cooper rig with the Demon Circle hooks on Ugly Stik Catfish rods. At exactly 9 AM my son hung into a nice sized blue catfish. After a workout of a fight he was able to bring in the fish and I landed it with the net. The fish weighed exactly 10.3 lbs. The biggest fish my son has caught up until this point. I had just as much fun watching him reel it in. We caught the fish at Uchee Creek Park on the Chattahoochee River in Ft Benning, GA. Thank you and blessings to you and your family.
That was pretty cool taking the time to burp that blue, too many people would of done nothing and need to do things differently and take a page from your book and thanks for the awesome video Steve and fish on my friend!
Us being new in the making fishing videos for RU-vid business is very frustrating at times, but seeing how awesome your videos are keeps us motivated to keep on pushing forward to try and help any fellow fisherman we can!! You’re the best in the game Steve keep it up!
Great to see another great video from the Catfish Dude. Thanks for sharing this great video with us Steve. Dang right I love watching your videos and seeing you put big cats in the boat. I hope one day I can get you on my Patriot Catfishers Of America Talk Show. Keep up the great fun.🇺🇸
Steve I just had Kris Flores on my Show Wednesday night. He is a great guy and we had a great time. We had 70 people in chat with us. Steve I host all RU-vidrs on my Show, from 20 subs up to 100,000. I’d love to have you come join me because you share so much great info and love for Catfish. I’ll message you today and I hope we can figure out something. Steve thank you for what you have done for the Catfish World. God bless America 🇺🇸
Sure was happy when I brought my subscriptions up and there was a new Steve Douglas video. I have heard that you have been very busy but it is wonderful to have you back again. Keep em coming if you can.
I was just thinking about ol Steve the other day! Hope all is well my friend! Great video as usual! I figured you done hit the sweet spot and went on vacation! Good to see ya still hauling in these big cats! Keep em coming
Great video as always! You've been an inspiration to my own fishing with your guidance and positive attitude. Glad to see you back filming and doing what you love! Keep them lines tight! 🤙🤙🤙
Hey Steve, just wanted to let you know they were catching skipjack below the ky dam today. Guy next to me brought in about 20, some were pretty damn fat too. We were all the way at the point past the bridge and the pier, nice little spot where the channel meets the lock for the barges. He was getting them right where the current hits the slack water. Had the best luck on a larger Sabiki with a 1-2 oz weight. He said he'll be in the Winter Blues tournament and was stocking up, took a few asian carp of me too for bait. Told him I thought you might be in it too but that was just a guess. Couple guys caught some closer to the dam but they had all of the gates open today and the current was brutal, don't think they got anywhere near what he did. Doubt you're hurtin for any but you might know some people looking for them.
Hi Steve Douglas I need to try some of that drift fishing I just don't have a good telling motor yet he looks like fun awesome video man I always like watching you learn a lot of stuff from you they showing my friend.
It's great to see you making videos again!!!!!! Glad to see you take the time to make sure that the fish were ok. My number 1 thing on my bucket list is to be able to fish with you just one time!!!!
THE CATFISH DUDE!!!!!! What's going on??? Good to see you back out there on them Blues. Just wanted to say thank you for your vids. Since I've been following you on RU-vid, I've been using the Carolina RIG and I must say, you have made my fishing easier and cheaper. I used to spend about $30 a night on leaders and sinkers at Walmart. Now I spend $30 for the whole year. Lose less sinkers and hooks. Thanks Steve. Love the vids
Awesome content, I always look forward to your next videos! I appreciate your dedication to making top quality equipment that just works with no questions asked.
GREAT 👀 seein back on utube looked like you had a purdy awesome day NICE FISH. BTW I got one of the Catmaxx setup's because of advice from you this been fishing with it ALL summer I also got a Lews laser 60 model setup to fish with to from watching Dieter Melhorn's utube channel I several Lews spinning reels bass stuff both setups work great for me the 2 main difference's I've found is the Lews reel has one bearing casts a tick future holds a few more yds of line the Catmaxx 's bait click could be louder NOT the reels fault I JUST CAN'T hear. The Lews is louder thu do I see 👀 me getting rid of one for the other nope like em both I'm just thanking for the advice on pickin an affordable reel that works for me and my budget. Both reels VERY comparable price wise BTW. Question are you going to be at the Monster's on the Ohio river tournament October 12th this year? Being a Kentucky boy myself I'm going to try to drive down and check it out not fish the tournament but ask questions about what's being done about the taking of the trophy catfish population here being sold to the paylakes. I still fish the Ohio river myself BUT the big aren't there like they USED to be I fish the Greenup to Meldall pool myself probably fish it tonight 🐟 Hopefully we'll see at monster's on the Ohio river tournament. Again GREAT seein you posting videos again. PEACE OUT Mr. Douglas thanks again for your videos and useful information. 🐝🐟😎🐟😎🐟🐝
Last year I added a couple Catmaxx reels to my gear and last week I got the Monster Rod from TWC. I can’t wait to get out on the water in the spring to try out that new rod. Do you think Bersa rattles above the hook could make much difference in catching catfish? I love watching your videos , keep em coming.
I too enjoy the catmaxx, but I've had 4 for about 3 1/2 years and 3 of the shuttle screw bushings have given out. Have you had this problem? I've looked for replacement parts but have been unsuccessful in doing so.
