I though I was the only one who calls my mom, Mommy. It’s endearing. I love your video, today it seems like it’s all about food! I like going along for the ride with you and your mom. She seems to be enjoying herself. I also enjoyed seeing what the lounges offer. Your suite sounds like it is out of this world, a chair that massages???!!! I’ve seen it all now I think!! They looked like they took good care of you. Really good, honest review, glad I watched it.
Ahhh First Class. My last flight was in Emirates First. It’s going to be hard going back to Business Class let alone Economy. Hope you and your Mum loved every minute of the onboard experience. Great Vlog as always. Cheers.
Jayden, looks just like his mom! Here's a revelation. It's faster and around the same ticket spending $$$ amount to get to 600 status points to renew in CX Gold by traveling HKG to BKK in business class than HKG to YVR business class 1 time Tried this CX lounge when flying 1st on AA and had the burger
Jayden I just took this flight CX101 myself- sat in 2A! I have to say it was so good; never had such a great sleep on a plane😭 The crew were even better😭 so impressed. Wrote a compliment to Cathay
Quite disappointed with my recent F experience on CX from LAX-HKG. Didn't load pajamas and the crew appeared new as they lacked refinement. But the seat is still among the best in the sky!
sorry to hear, the crew is always a hit or miss, shame you had a 'miss' that day. Do write in about the PJs, I'm sure they can offer some compensation, at least in miles. I wrote in about the food on this particular flight and I got enough miles for short haul economy.
LOL the "face mist" reminded me of something else when you sprayed it but I'll leave that to your imagination Jayden hehe 😅😅, otherwise, great 1st Class video!! it looked like it was worth every penny.
Hi Jayden thank you for the video nice to see you travelling with your Mum. Seat on plane had plenty of room and lots of pillows. Meal didn't look to bad.
Hi Jayden. It's lovely to see your mum on a trip with you. And she looks like she enjoys being filmed, too. Air turbulence and red wine... I bet you are happy that glass didn't spill, 'cos it looked like it might. !😂 A good comfy seat makes all the difference on a flight, and it was good to see also that the cabin staff offers you anpi choice for breakfast when they noticed you weren't too keen on what you had originally been served !
Hi Jayden, it was nice meeting you in the CX Pier First Lounge when you recorded this video, my partner and I were on our way to Spain and met you and your mum!
It was very long as we had already flown from MEL, but it was good nonetheless 🙂 LOL I didn't notice your SYD flight left from next gate, but I think I heard an announcement saying your flight had been delayed a bit and was thinking maybe you left the lounge too soon 😆
Because the last time I flew the b777 on Cathay Pacific I flew business class with my mom and my dad and my sister were in premium economy from Hong Kong to Los Angeles
Another great Video Jayden, but wow how much food can you handle, two meals before departure and then dinner onboard😮 the closest I’ve come to first class is a cheeky tour on the ground with my cabin crew friends, could you do a post landing vlog in Sydney next please, cheers Jay
Wow, it's really impressive that CX offers a noodle soup on a plane, something you would rarely find on another airline (except ANA I think, they offer ramen). The food offering in the lounge was amazing too, so as the one onboard. The crew seems to be very lovely and friendly and doing the best to get you treated like a first class passengers (though you are a business class passengers). Hard product seems to look pretty good, seat looks very comfortable. Tbh, I kinda wondering that why they didn't sell the first class seats with the first class tickets but instead, they offer it for business class and I think it's kinda nice. The reason why I never pre-book a vegetarian or vegan meal onboard because I don't think many airlines can do well with this kind of meal, though your supper for me looks fine actually and at least their regular meal looks fantastic. Pajamas that missing on CX is somehow weird tho but fyi, Garuda Indonesia never offers pajamas I think. Considering the price it might be pretty affordable as well for a business class. Great video, Jayden, waiting one day for u to fly with Garuda hehe. 😁😁
Qantas also doesn't sell first class when they operate the A380 on this route - the demand for first class isn't great on this route. I think both airlines have quite old first class products as well.
In my experience so far, China Airlines is definitely worth the vegan meal order. Apparently Korean Air too which I will give it a go next month. As @nightowldickson suggested first class demand isn't strong between HK and AUS. Probably not long enjoy to enjoy the seat and service compared to HK to London.
Hello! Jayden, please can I have that change with the queen head that you were given in Hong Kong when you purchased something from the market? Thanks in advance.
2:05 lmao Portion control 😂 You have a great body, so no need for that. Congratulations on first class upgrade 🤴 Great video bro 😎 and as always, Love ❤️ your Vlog 🙏
Hey buddy! It's been a while since I saw your videos. And I remember that you also commented on my EY424 review (6 years ago) . ahahha, time flies so fast. Anyways, as usual, lovely review. Would love to try Cathay. I'm currently here in Hong Kong and I've reviewed SQ's A350 from DXB to SQ and A380 from SIN to HKG. Cheers!
Great report JW - business in first class, you mentioned the large amount of room, so it must be true, size does matter 😆. Glad you spoil mummy, so good to see. I must say Cathay's catering isn't as good as it used to be, like QF, cost cutting! Hope mummy and 6'4" have some quality time together!
21:56, Almost 2 months ago in August, I flew Scoot, Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner from Singapore to Sydney on the eye flight and it's okay and vacation in Sydney.
Hi Jayden great video!! Maybe oneday you should do a private jet trip report?? Do you think you will one day do a private jet trip report in Australia??
That food in the lounge looked absolutely delicious. Makes me want to go on another trip soon. Can you claim the trips on tax? So lovely to be able to travel with your mum. Shame HK isn’t still a colony eh. I like it very cool place.
I just received notice that Cathay Pacific will resume direct flights from Chicago O'Hare to Hong Kong 😀. Flights will resume again Tuesday, Oct. 3 and will depart Chicago at 4:05 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving in Hong Kong at 8:45 p.m. the following day. Return fights will leave Hong Kong at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving in Chicago at 2:25 p.m. the same day. Strangely enough no mention of the aircraft type 🫤
@@JaydenWong im gonna be freak out and can't sleep🥹 the more i take a plane, the more im scared of turbulence nowadays, any tips on how to overcome the fear?🥹🥹
Thanks for the review of the newly reopened Pier First class lounge. This is the first review I have seen since the reopeing. I thought it had been revamped, but it looked exactly the same as before. Were there any differences or innovations from the pre covid era? Also noticed CX haven't changed their terrible food offering in business - 3 meat options no veggie or fish option unless you pre order.
The Pier First reopened in 2015 so it is still very new. Both the Qantas and The Pier lounges did not go through any big changes but Qantas has newer furniture, and The Pier First had made some changes to its catering and bathroom toiletries (as did the other Cathay lounges) ;)
Great review of CX's first class. The amenities are what I expect of first class, nice and wide seats, excellent food and attentive care from flight attendants. So its still decent and luxurious. However, since CX has hinted at their new "Aria" business class, I suppose they may also be working on a new first class. I certainly hope they are, because CX's first class product, while still good, is starting to fall behind other airlines. It is starting to get dated compared to rival premium airlines like Emirates, Qatar, Singapore Airlines, etc. Those airlines' first class enclosed privacy suites is what CX lacks in particular.
Yep they are working towards a new First for their 777x, although we should see the new Aria suites before the new First because they will put them on the 777-300ER. Thanks for watching!
I believe the rule is that if business won't sell out, they won't offer those seats in First Class because it'll require extra crew resource. Was your dad's business cabin full?
Do you think you could get used to travelling First Class? I presume the answer to be "YES!!!" 😁😁😁 The only drawback I could see would be getting on the scales weighing 190kg! 😮💨 - I love the double-decker trams in Honkers!
Had the pleasure to fly CX F many times 747 and 777. Still think F check in @ HKG should be more exclusive which it is not. You're cousins BF is indeed handsome :)
Nice First-ish Class review!! Your flight crew sounded Canadian. I've noticed that a lot of CX flight deck crew are still British, Aussie, or Canadian. How come that's still the case? Are local crew that hard to find? FWIW, both times I flew CX in 2018 my flight crew were British.
Yep absolutely! When you think about it Hk is too small for any kind of flight training. Australia, Canada etc on the other hand have plenty of flight training schools and airfields :) We don’t have an Air Force as well unlike Singapore
QF lounge in HK seems to be a better than any of their lounge in Australia😂 what time do they startserving Char siu? Agree with breaking your diet for making the most of it!
All seats including the middle seats are aisle seats technically. www.aerolopa.com/cx-77a D and K seats share the same aisle. A seats (my mum and I) have their own aisle
The First class service on HKG-SYD should have not been resumed yet. I think your flight is just an 77A with FCL seats available for DM pax and served with JCL service?
First class tastes on a business class budget, now how are you going to travel in anything less than that!! So is Cathay on the way back up to being the airline it was pre-Covid?
No clue haha. We just asked for it and got it. But normally even Cathay Silver has higher priority than Emerald and Sapphire. When CX used to fly to Adelaide and I was in boarding school, my silver classmates would always get upgraded to business/premium but I as a Sapphire kept my original economy seat😂
Thanks for replying! As CX 's loyality program does not have lifetime diamond status, I can only put my status points on BA executive club even though I am based in Hong Kong. HAHA! @@JaydenWong
Wait... did this flight leave on the 15/16th of Sept? I could have seen @JaydenWong that day as I was dropping off my sister to uni that day on EK 381!
That’s a gold mine getting a semi-first experience on a business ticket. Is it a luck of the draw to get this kind of equipment for your flight, or is it kind of predictable and one to look out for if you’re travelling Cathay business?
Half of Cathay flights to MEL and SYD are operated by those 4-class 777 :) So if you are booked on an A350, no chance at all. Qantas QF127/128 Sydney-Hong Kong is 4-class A380- same story, both Cathay and Qantas don't sell First Class on this route. Platinum/Diamond members will be able to select those seats after booking business on those flights :)
