i personally think catherine will stay with austin until he’s completely down and out and then make her own channel and speak out against him and play the “things weren’t what they seemed” narrative

I actually think Catherine is smarter than Austin, because she always stays quiet and sends him to speak up. Leaving him like a scammer and awful person, and leaving her like an innocent victim.

Austin is the face of the Ace Family, Catherine is the brains, and the children are the overworked employees

It frustrates me when the parents say "the kid wants to do it". Like they're 5, they want to do it because it makes mummy and daddy happy and they get attention when they are filmed. there's no way the children actually understand what they're doing and how constant filming could be harmful in the future.

I think in 10-15 years we’ll start to see a rise in child exploitation law suits from the children of family vloggers!

When the child started crying and he looked at his own child and said “no one is coming to get you” and then kept trying to film, I got a sinking feeling in my stomach and wanted to vomit.

This reminds me of a time when I asked my friend why she chose to be Vice President instead of president of a club. She said “If stuff doesn’t go right, the VP never gets the heat for it, the president does.”

Catherine is just as toxic, greedy and messy as Austin if not more, she is just way more quiet with it. I find her to be a very manipulative person.

Catherine benefits from the “women are wonderful” effect so hard. Because she is also a scam artist. But is capable of acting dumb and innocent, and can easily get away with people thinking she’s a bystander instead of a co-conspirator.

I see people often time feel bad for Catherine, but she really isn't as innocent as everyone seems to think.

The fact that she complains about privacy and other struggles with publicity, BUT STILL DOESNT want to respect her kids privacy, speaks volumes about her mentality as a mother. Like how can you complain about something, but at the same time put others(kids) in that same position to face the cons of publicity.

Okay real talk, that story of her ‘past life’ about her being a mermaid wanting to live on land but her dad was a king is LITERALLY the entire plot of The Little Mermaid. What a scam. 🤣

Huge red flag ladies if he makes the reservation for your first date before confirming both that he has a date OR that you like the food… that sets a precedent. This is a dude who will ask for forgiveness but not permission. I’m glad she could make a positive spin on it, but come on. Also, the correct response to someone saying they didn’t like sushi is to ask what they do like, and go from there. Cancel your stupid sushi reservation.

The fact that people even consider the possibility that she's naïve or innocent in all of this when she's been in the industry since she was a teenager is insane. People need to stop acting like women in these family channels are just pawns in their husbands' schemes. She's just as evil as Austin, if not more because at least he addresses the controversies (while making an ass out of himself in the process). Catherine just runs away, pretends she has nothing to do with it, and runs all the way to the bank with the profits. The fact that she feigns ignorance makes her more manipulative than Austin.

Catherine is an adult, a grown woman, a mother. So being naive does not excuse doing wrongs. She knows what she’s doing.

Beyond everything touched on here...imagine being ten, or six, or three. You want your parents to love you, and you're a kid, just exploring and figuring stuff out. Except your entire family's livelihood depends on you being on camera. Except your parents are also your bosses. Except their praise and approval only comes when you act like they want. Except when something bad happens, you never know if it's a prank or not. Except that millions of people know your face and have opinions about you before you even know yourself.

I didn't even like putting up pictures of my sons on FB, and only did a small handful of times to get my mom off of my back about that. I couldn't imagine doing what family vloggers do to their kids.

Catherine isn’t the “lesser of two evils”; She’s just a smarter, more cunning flavour of evil when compared to Austin.

Catherine seems to be much smarter than she wants us to believe. She seems to be very calculated, but is still vulnerable to being potentially manipulated emotionally by Austin. This relationship is so uncomfortable to watch, their kids are living such a crazy reality. Their parents aren't just aggressive stage parents; these are shifty, exploitative con-people documenting every second of their childhoods. I really hope there are adults around them with their actual best interest in heart so when they get older they have a support system and sense of family/trust.

The sad part is Catherine could have been extremely successful with 1212 gateway if she didn’t lock them out of the accounts n stuff and let them do what they needed to do.

I can't imagine the burnout their kids will face at such a young age, not to mention just their reputation. Burnout being: they felt drained and dragged out at such a young age and pushed constantly by their parents, so maybe later in life they just won't care about certain things, I hope not because these kids really have been used by their parents :/

Omg the possible dynamic you brought up of Catherine being way smarter than she lets on and Austin just being the figure head reminds me SO much of the founders/couple from the LulaRich documentary. She was the real brains of the operation but played dumb for the camera while her husband did most of the talking.

No longer being able to make profit off their first kid getting older, they decided that they could make money off another and had the second child & same idea with their third kid. The fact that Catherine is supposedly close with Kylie Jenner of all people speaks volumes. Kylie is the queen of scamming people with her bad quality (and extremely expensive!) products and then staying absolutely silent when the backlash rolls in. Something that messes me up the more I hear that clip in videos talking about this family is that they say “things wouldn’t be the same” if Elle didn’t want to film, but don’t clearly state that they wouldn’t continue to make Elle and/or the other kids part of the blog.

Catherine was smart from the beginning. To me, this could have been her plan from the beginning, to let Austin ahead when it came to public events and the family persona, saving her brand as her own lifeboat in case things blew up. She's been in the public eye ever since she was a kid, and she knows how to play the game and win.

Let’s not forget that when Austin and Catherine were first promoting the ace club, they advertised how Elle would be going live on there. Does anyone else think that’s incredibly dangerous to put your kids out there without any parents present??

I really wish all companies would spend more time and put more thought into their packaging. I bought some makeup from a brand and it came smashed to hell and broken and when I reached out, they said it was my fault for not buying purchase protection and that they are not responsible for shipping…as a customer I was devastated :/

August 26th is my oldest's birthday! Congratulations and good for you taking time off. I pray that laws are passed to protect children like these. In the meantime, thank you for shining a light on all of it. We viewers have a lot of power. If we withhold revenue from these people, maybe others will think twice before exploiting their kids.

When they’re promoting these schemes it’s always “us”, “we”, “together”, “our”. But when they go wrong it’s just Austin? When things are going good Catherine is strong, and a girl boss, and independent and influential and inspirational. But when things go wrong, she’s just an oblivious bystander or even a victim. That’s giving her a really big pass on all of the blame. If you’re in all the videos promoting these things, have your name and face on all of them, you can take part of the blame when those products are bad.

From what I know from my mom he hated it and said it was the worst thing he ever did. And this was in the 30’s and 40’s when these rules weren’t a thing. Come to find out his mom took all the money and used it.

I'll be honest as well, Catherine sounds like she's an active co-conspirator in the scams- if not the ringleader half of the time. I used to teach horseback riding lessons to a very famous adolescent RU-vidr (my other young students would recognize her and be absolutely starstruck), and I always thought it was weird that her dad drove around in a very nice truck and his license plate said “RU-vidr” (but missing some of the letters to make it fit on the plate). It was extra weird to me because the channel was very much centered around her and her younger sister as the stars, rather than around the entire family (although they do make plenty of appearances on the channel). It would be like if you’re a doctor and your dad was not a doctor, but the license plate on his car said “doctor”. Like… it was such a bizarre thing to me haha. Especially when he acted like a really normal guy in person, and RU-vid didn’t seem like some super consuming part of his personality (he actually never even talked about it to me or anyone else at the stables, that I’m aware of). But the girl was very sweet and seemed well adjusted and very happy. She seemed to be doing great in school. She was talkative, polite, imaginative, and told me about all the of the fun sleepovers and time she spent hanging out with her friends. She was able to come to the barn several days a week as/pursue her interests and hobbies. Her mother sometimes filmed her time at the barn for their channel, but it wasn’t that often. Her mother was always very kind and sweet, and her younger sister was also very sweet and seemed happy and talkative. I never felt like they crossed any boundaries filming, and they never stepped on mine or anyone else’s privacy at the barn. I still think about her and hope that things to continue to be good for her ❤️ the Internet fame would be too overwhelming for me, personally haha

Her fakey high-pitched voice drives me crazy. My mother is narcissistic and *very* manipulative. My whole life I knew that when she used a sweet high-pitched voice it meant she was trying to seem sweet, innocent, maybe a little dim, and likable and all so she could get something out of whoever she was talking to. When she’d use that voice on me I quickly learned to be on my toes and watch what I say because she was about to use it against me. So now whenever I encounter someone that does the fake-high-pitched-voice thing, I get instant manipulation vibes. It makes me nauseated and definitely makes me distrust that person.

Catherine could have married or dated anyone she wanted, but she chose Austin and that speaks more volume than anything else. I have to believe that she is a bad person because she knew how Austin was and could have left at any moment to be with someone more attractive, more famous, who had more money, etc.

As a new mother with a pretty solid following on Instagram, I don’t post a SINGLE photo of my daughter on social media at all. I absolutely do not believe that children should have their image posted all over the internet without their consent. I just can’t get how a parent would put their kids out there like that. I get the feels he makes the fires and she tries putting them out by covering them up. She’s much smarter and calculating but I feel she quite manipulative but probably. Wouldn’t be surprised if he abuses her though. Look at the video of where she dresses in dress up with the short skirt and he leans against the wall. He moves forward while she quickly steps back and her voice gets smaller. Also the row in the kitchen and he quickly goes towards her then stops

I don't think they keep making the same "mistakes", they're just doing what they're being rewarded for. If the first scam turned into a massive backlash that lost subscribers and tanked their future business endeavors they would've done a full 180 in seconds.
