A trial I personally struggled with for years. I even left the faith because of it. God brought me back and I'm now happy to say that I'm a Catholic married woman with children. I'm trying my best to raise them with loving values that help bring people to God.

We believe thru tradition that Christ says that he commanded Peter and the 12 Apostles to command the Holy Church when he gave Holy Tounges to the Holy Spirit. Those who suffer from SSA should absolutely be loved and respected, but they also need to be told the truth in love. Truly loving someone with SSA does not mean encouraging them to engage in that disordered behavior, but showing them they’re called to a life of chastity.
But some aren't ready to hear that yet. You meet them where they are. It's hard to understand the Church's teachings on same-sex attraction without understanding the Church's teachings on sexuality, and it's impossible to understand that without understanding and experiencing the love of Christ. Of course, you can't separate Christ and the Church, but we start with who Christ is when introducing people to the faith. Most people are aware of what the Church has to say about homosexuality anyway, or they wrongly assume that we hate the LGBTQ+ community (for sometimes valid reasons, due to the lack of charity many of us our guilty of- saying this as someone who has failed in this regard). What they may not know is the depth of God's love for them, and the idea of love as a sacrificial love. I found it astounding how much time and thought energy is spent on this topic, of which the religious scholars have great disagreement over the passages that are referenced about the topic when there are very clear directions in scripture to avoid judgment of others, to reject greed and hatred. Jesus was very very clear in these directives yet so little time and effort is spent spreading this narrative, protesting against those who are greedy and judgemental, against those that groom our children to be greedy, hateful and judgemental. Everyone needs to spend much more time on the very specific narratives and direction Jesus gave that. Once we have that down, we can sit with the scholars and talk about this.

That's NOT from the Catholic Catechism. If you read the Catechism of the Council of Trent, I think it's pretty clear that even heterosexual relationships are to be modest and not to be taken lightly. Impurity is the reason that most souls fall into darkness.

The catechism states in 2358 too that „ They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided.“. Disregarding that there are loving and committed same-sex relationships by stating that the very nature of homosexual acts is sinful doesn’t work, as separating sexual orientation from sexual acts. And looking at how the first comment here equals homosexuality and pedophilia shows the effects of this teachings: it’s hate, bigotry and rejections that can lead queer people even into suicide. Since the theological reasoning to justify this teaching is outdated, misguided, and inconsistent with the main virtues of love and respect, this teaching needs to change.

Yes anyone can come to GOD for forgiveness but the church is not saying, ask forgiveness and live out your sin or promote sin. The Church calls all sinners to repent walk away from sin and follow Christ. I agree what she is saying but that shirt is confuses people and the messages.

I'm not even Catholic, and even I think this is an abomination! The bible states that it's a sin. You can not reconcile that. every human being deserves a sacred place.
The church has a fabulous ministry, called COURAGE, which is a support group for Catholics who suffer from same sex attraction, who are trying to live their faith in chastity. This is EXACTLY what the Church should be doing; helping the flock live their faith, whatever temptations and struggles they may face.

Jesus still died for all of our sins right? And no amount of sinning that we do, will ever be too great for Jesus to forgive us. Correct? So what are we all talking about? Why you do you feel the need to condemn the people Jesus forgave with the price of his life? If you could explain why you feel the need to social engineer hypocrisy as a norm contradictory to the actions & teachings of Christ, I think we can alleviate a lot of confusion for a billion Catholics.

You forgot to read the whole teaching of the church about homosexuality, you just read a part of it. It starts on # 2357-2359. A text out of context is a pretext.
Pints With Aquinas podcast had an excellent interview with this woman, she is wonderful. God bless her. Anyone struggling with same sex attraction, or wanting to understand the issue from a more loving perspective will find comfort and wisdom in her words as she so generously shares her life experiences.
But why would they go on to support this sin? What they are saying and what they are doing are not in alignment. We should not be expected to just accept it. They took the rainbow (God's Promise) and made it into a flag that stands for sexual deviants and slapped the word "Pride" on it. The original sin. Tell me that's not evil?
