Cuz a lot of Koreans are atheist or of no religion. People have the right to believe as they see fit. None of us actually know for certain what the actual truth is.
Apink has members: chorong, naeun are catholic; hayoung, namjoo, and bomi are some christian - ~nearly half their group catholic and ~almost the whole group. Their brother group Victon when I watched them in the early days of their debut from debut up until Remember Me album, they can be seen doing the sign of the cross, like seungsik with the bug in the room and other incidents.
I am a Singaporean Catholic and had attended mass in Seoul quite a few times including a Christmas Eve mass in 2016. The Korean Catholics are devoted and ladies wore their veils while in mass. Lovely choirs they have too.
Did anyone notice that kpop idols tend to be more religious than most Koreans generally? Less than a third of South Korea is Christian, but I've seen a whole lot of Christian idols (be it directly confirmed or suggested/hinted), and quite a good number of groups with more than a third of the members Christians.

Because they need something to keep them holding on to life. As a VIP I’ve seen Daesung and Taeyang especially be very vocal about being Christian. GD has also mentioned God but never saying a specific religion while T.O.P has finally during the last years began to say more about God as he left Big Bang for his mental health and healing.
Joshua from Seventeen is Catholic. And Hanbin B.I has claimed to be atheist and in one of his dance practice videos he does the sign of the cross and shakes his head no. But over and over in songs and in interviews he talks about God and being blessed- he even frequently wears a cross. Just like how Madonna got her children baptized Catholic " just in case," the Catholic guilt gets us every time... Peace be with you! (sign of the cross) :)

These "stars" have taken the oath and signed the Luciferian contract in blood, thus selling their soul. Actress Melissa Ford once stated in an interview "if your ultimate goal is to be famous, then your going to do a lot to get there, like sign your name in blood in a contract with the Devil". It's great to see people conecting with religion, specially mine in this case. But I just pray that they really can follow Catholicism in pratice, other way, being baptized just because or having a Cathlic name will be no difference.
when you google religion in korea, at least for my search results, it shows most people are atheists. as for idols i know yoongi said he doesn't partake in any religion but idk about others
