Denmark’s Cathrine Dufour and the Zinglersen family's Bohemian won the Grand Prix with a personal best score of 83.022% at the 2019 CDI-W Herning on Saturday 19 October 2019. Dufour received a standing ovation as she left the spectacular arena “Jyske Bank Boxen” .
For the third consecutive year the World Cup in Herning gathered some of the best dressage riders to compete for honour and points in the prestigious tournament. The opening leg of the 2019-2020 Western European League World Cup season is held at the MCH Messecenter in Herning, Denmark, where dressage riders can collect their first points towards the Finals in April 2020 in Las Vegas, USA.
The home crowd held their breath in anticipation as Cathrine Dufour and her 9-year old partner Bohemian (by Bordeaux x Samarant) showed a spectacular test, scoring lots of 9.0 for their impressive and energetic piaffe and passage. Foot-perfect transmissions resulted in multiple 10s from the judges as did the rider’s position and seat.
The spectators followed Cathrine with enthusiasm as she entered the last centre line, a wonderful piaffe with beautiful transitions to passage released an impulsive clapping from the audience. Bohemian spooked and lost his step, but Cathrine quickly brought him back on track for their final salute.
"The atmosphere is so cool in there and he has to learn it," Cathrine emphasized. “So thanks to the audience, it wasn’t their fault he reacted in that way. I’m glad the audience is so enthusiastic”, she continued.

Not sure why anyone would give this a thumbs down. Bohemian is so focused on Catherine, and relaxed. He's enjoying this test, loving doing his best for her. It's beautiful.

Catrine can really ride. I once saw her other horse Cassidy led at a trot and you would not have thought to look twice, let alone think he was a world class horse. But wait until she gets on and he transforms into a superstar. Amazing rider!!

What a journey she's on with this young one, after an already amazing journey with a horse-of-a-lifetime like Cassidy. Must be unreal to have lightening strike twice.

FINALLY a horse wins who's not so far behind the vertical his chin touching his chest. Thank God! 👏👍😍⭐❤

Fun fact: If you're at a dressage competition, please do not start CLAPPING WITH THE BEAT while the competitor is still finishing their piece. That was SO rude, and caused the horse to spook. Such a lovely performance, and that may (probably did) cost her a mark.

Fun fact: Cathrine didn't mind and actually enjoys it. Her statement afterwards was that he has to learn to handle it. It means she's having a great impact and is moving the audience to be engaged and enthusiastic. It didn't cost her a mark. The judges quickly conferred and agreed not to deduct anything.

Offcourse, nothing is perfect and I'm not saying it is a bad performance, but 83 with a horse that is dipped bevind the saddle and behind the vertical in every extended trot... Also broken at the third verteb. in piaffe and lots of other moments...

You dont know what your looking at, do you? As the commentators said....if that horse wasnt behind vertical, he would have scored even more. You cant see the amazing talent this horse got, especially his back leg action??

@@magstine Remember Totilas? He was "the greatest horse ever". Yet riding behind vertical and eventually they had to retire him. What is that worth? A ribbon? Not to me anyway, but then again I just enjoy my horse. I don't force him to work like this and break him down. I was 16 and young and wanted to be like this. Now I'm happy I never persued this. To me this is cruel. And yes I know not every one feels like this. But any horse that goes into rollkur should be disqualified. There is nothing beautiful about this. This is just using the animal and for what? Money a stupid ribbon? No not worth it. If all the judges would disqualify this, them maybe, just maybe we would get back some respect for the horse.

Thank you 👏 modern dressage has lost everything that was good about the discipline. It wasnt developed for winning ribbons and cash sponsorships. It was developed to strengthen & prepare war horses. The horses trained in dressage today are more prone to injury, concussive fractures, stifle and hock arthritis before the age of 15. Nothing healthy about it.

I think she rides better than most top dressage riders, however I do agree with comments in this section. Equestrians are comprising the horse for the sake of the sport, which is sad. The one and only reason I lost my desire to go big in the horse world. Glad to see there's still riders left who recognize this in the sport.

Yeah, so do continue and list them! List them one by one and you can't do it. Sure there's issues, so what young rider, horse love it.
