I'm glad you got a chance to examine it but it's a shame theres so many unanswered mysteries about it. The high point of the video was the beautiful cat who now calls this chevelle his so you better bring lots of tasty treats to coax him into giving it up !
Love your videos. I find they allow me to reflect on why I’ve bought and sold about a dozen or so old cars over the last 40 years. The last one a ‘76 Gran Fury Police pkg. took 18 years to get on the road. They are hard work, and can be endless money pits. But very rewarding, as I learned about more than just cars, and met many interesting people. Not for me to judge why this person won’t let go. Just glad that I did. Keep them coming Patrick.
Before the world went money crazy over the last 10 years.. It was and still is somewhat common to see rare valuable cars setting just like this one. I enjoy seeing all the car's that have survived perfect or not. Many high performance or sports cars got wrecked or stripped before they was 5 years old. Great Video as always Patrick!
Alot disapeared in like 07 when scrap hit 15 a hundred i used to see 50s 60s and 70s cars everywhere until that happen i repember a guy down the street from me at that time scrapped 2 79 transams so many cars was getting scrapped it was a huge line in the shreddar
People say there’s no more old car sitting out there they’re sitting everywhere You just have to look form the 70 Chevelle is my favorite of all the shovels you do an awesome job with what you do keep up the good work
I agree about lots of them still sitting around. On my little back woods road in the middle of nowhere in Canada, there is a '69 Road Runner, '68 Charger R/T, '71 Cuda, '70 Coronet conv; '75 Road Runner, '63 W100 Power Wagon, '68 W200 crew cab Power Wagon, '64 F100 short box, 71 Lemans, mid 70s Corvette. This is among 4 farms within 1/2 mile from my place. I'm sure there's more in or behind the barns that I don't know about. Lots of them out there!
@@tlr-nut7275 Can you hook me up with the owner(s) of any of the Mopars, other than the '75 Road Runner? I would really love to visit the middle of nowhere Canada to bring back a classic Mopar.
@@cincyspin178 No I won't. The Road Runner and Power Wagons are mine, and my neighbours wouldn't appreciate it. I didn't even know my neighbour 2 farms over had a '68 Charger R/T in the barn 'till last year. I have yet to see it. People like their privacy I guess.
Hmm, Vin tag sanded to unidentifiable land, color change, vinyl top added, kinda makes me think this car was stolen at some point in it's life, sad to see it just rot!!
@@HelvisCamaro Which model is it ? It is Awesome looking whichever 1 it is my favorite ML i have is a 94 blackbolt neck through made in Japan by ESP for Dean.
how does it break your heart exactly? someone got themselves a job, bought the car they wanted and it now sits on their property.the end..... the "thoughts" that happen in peoples heads these days make me sad for the utter stupidity of a large portion of the human race, please dont breed.
Speaking of people that shouldnt breed ... anyone who thinks and spends a ton of cash on a 3rd generation trans am and thinks it is a cool car or "muscle car " clearly shouldn't have enjoyed chewing on old painted surfaces and hopefully cant breed to leave the rest of us to deal with more narcissistic narrow minded idiots. When the shoe is on the other foot ... it can kick you in the arse huh ?
@@Fred_NaughT think dudes like that just need someone to pick on, fucking internet bully's piss me off. This car is such a waste. As is this car can buy 4 or 5 restored third gen Camaros. Those cars are complete shit.
Ever think that the car is stolen by chance? I’d get an “extensive” rebuild. But radiator support tag perfectly cut out, compete color change, the right way too in the door jams, a vinyl top added, vin tag sanded wayyyy down.... possibly stolen??
Always breaks my heart to see these cars like this ... They don't want to sell them ,as they are always going to fix it up (but never do). Then they die and the kids crush it cause they are usually past the point of no return...
It's hard to believe that cars like this are rotting away in this day and age with the prices these things can fetch...restore & preserve em or sell em to someone that will
There is something WRONG with idiots who allow such classics to rot away. If you're not going to properly take CARE of it, GIVE it or at least SELL it to someone who WILL
Jessica Greene no. The automatic trans did have a different steering column in comparison to a manual trans. The lever located behind the power brake booster worked in conjunction with linkage rods to prevent theft and provide safety. The ignition switch must be turned past the lock position in order to pull the transmission out of the Park position. An car equipped with an automatic trans with column shift or floor shift shared the same steering column.
Or wrecked and the owner preferred cranberry red instead of tuxedo black. If you ever owned a black car ... you will know how much of a pain they are to keep looking clean. I'd never own another black car after 2 of them LOL
They said sure to the video in hopes of you making them an offer on it probably was the motor around anywhere? You think someone would put 454 emblems on it if it wasn't a 454?
@@MBailey1977 Yup another good point. A buddy of mine had a 66 Chevy II but it had a built 4.3 V6 with twin turbos. Everyone assumed it was a crappy sixties 6 cyl though. He loved revving it up because it sounded horrible and most laughed at it. But he'd say well let's race for cash and see how bad it runs. He slaughtered almost every car he raced until word spread. Most didnt know that His dad built race motors for sprint cars and had been modifying small block chevys since 1955 LOL. The 4.3 V6 is essentially a 350 V8 with 2 cylinders deleted. (Same bore + stroke)
Ya i know its an old trick to make it look bad ass but the stuff they replaced is all correct replacement parts so im thinking they would put the correct tag on it.
Unless the owner was struck by lightning and died immediately there is no way this car should’ve sat and got in this kind of condition. It is an absolute fucking shame.
Another one with no engine. What the heck? I just don't understand owning something like this and not taking at least basic care of it? I can only imagine what the owners house must look like.
