What a beautifully done book ru-vid.comUgkxo4aMFkUegBx-KHPIJlfwKPHu7kQXAR9N ! The text and the photographs are brilliant. It is thorough and genuinely informative. Joseph Truini got another winner! No one does it better! Love the Cape Cod Shed with the Blue door!
you did an outstanding job on the cattle guard. back in the late '40s and early 50's on the farm in Tenn. we made then basically the same way, but we used logs and 2X4 instead of concrete and steel pipes. (Mississippi gulf coast)
Thank you for the nice comment. Hard work has its rewards. A fully loaded concrete truck drove over the cattle guard the other day and had no issues. I
Great work! When I worked for a farming company 85 percent of the time I did work independently, but it was a Labor of Love and I didn't call it a job it just came naturally. Unfortunately, the company closed down and I'll never find one like it again. Every day was a different work order. Thanks for tip on how to build a cattle guard.
....Lots and Lots of Dedication and Effort to not only build the Cattle Guard Forms and get the concrete poured....but also to Video Record and Edit all of the footage of you project....Thanks for showing all of us How-to-get-Things-Done....
"Of course the hole was a little bit too narrow so I had to dig it out"... hey, that's my line! Good show. Thank you for sharing. Definitely helpful (and yes, I am in Texas, too!)
@@LewisRenovation I'm actually trying to solve a problem of ice on a long sloped drive for my girlfriend's parents in TN. I thought that a good ol TX cattle guard would provide the grate and lessen ice buildup that would keep them from sliding down the hill.
Mostly that much work because of my heavy clay soil. My dad 18 miles west of here can just put a cattle guard directly on the ground because he has rock on the surface. But my place sure looks better in the heat of summer.
Just had found your channel. Man congratulations, you did this amazing work by yourself. I'm working now, but promise that will watch all your videos. Liked so much because I love to work by myself too. If you want something perfect just do it. Have a wonderful week.
Much props to you brother for doing all that work by yourself but we have been using that cattle gar here in Mexico for years and it works great. Good video
Нравится мне, как они там заморачиваются на элементарными вещами. Главное у них есть все, что бы так заморочиться, и Техника и инструмент и бетон прямо в поле приезжает! )))
Nice work and I feel for you in the heat as we get our share here in GA to. Hard to believe 1.7 million people took the time to watch someone else work hard in the heat. (me included)
My grandpa had one of those in his property now it's back in the 70s pretty much looks the same there's a little difference I was trained nice seeing how it was made cuz I was a little kid back then I can't add a general idea how it was made I was pretty close to Hope I was thinking nice to see the work you did I thought it turned out pretty decent what it's used for I do know
I build my forms first...Then I know how deep / wide the hole will be...... Spray paint the ground so I can see as I dig.... PLUS.... My driveway doesn't have a BIG HOLE in it as I am back at the shop building....... And the cattle LOL at you......
What kind of weight will that handle? We usually build two perpendicular concrete supports approximately dump truck width apart for duallys with heavy loads, like concrete trucks, dump trucks, feed trucks, grain trucks, etc... Great video though. best wishes and good luck.
you should put a narrow strip of expanded metal where you walk up to lock the gate incase you fall thought it. i know a guy that fell through one and broke his leg and the dude was stuck there for five hours until they found him. thats if you put a gate there :P
@@anthonyspicer874 yeah a lot of them have a little walk way made out of expanded metal so u dont hurt yourself by accident, shit happens then you step on it no matter what anyone thinks. freak accidents happen
Never needed this type of bridge. Cattle wont cross? Like them not going down stairs i guess? Ive seen plenty when i was a kid but never thought the purpose was that cows just dont cross them? I did notice them standing behind it before installed. Thought the dog was scaring em! Lol! Great vid!!
@@LewisRenovation i grew up passing by them going to town and never understood what those things were for. Cows dont like unsure footing? Scares them a bit? Looking at other vids sence, i now get it. Awsome that it works!! Thanks for the reply!!
