That is a $3000 Kayak. Considering old town is backed up on wholesale orders for businesses cutting them a profit, and who need to continue to sell kayaks to stay open, doesn't sound likely. In my shop we can't keep kayaks on the walls. Old town doesn't need to give anything away for publicity and they don't do it for charity.
Dylan R They don’t need to, but they do it all the time. RU-vid “advertising” has been good for business. John’s 71K subscribers justifies the write off.
I have tournament fished for so many years that you lose sight of just the pure joy of fishing. These videos bring me back to fishing just for the fun of it.
Man I wish I had those pan fish, cleaned & cooked of course. 🐟 You are doing good with the tournament & best of luck. Perch are great too. 🐟 Take care & that's what "voicemail" is for. 😉
Just got back from fishing what a good way to unwind watching a few of my favorite fishing channels and eating subway.. Lol since I only caught one little half pound smallmouth and a couple rock bass
Exactly. Jaw dislocation is due to thumbing them and holding horizontally for a pic. Pick straight up with thumb = ok. Turn horizontal with thumb = bad.
@@CC_Marauder if you dont care, you are a horrible person, that doesnt care about the health of any fish caught and released back! If they cannot close their mouth , they DIE!
Love the Old Town's, picked up the Sportsman PDL 106 this season and love being able to move around creeks, rivers, ponds, lakes without beating my old knees to death.
Well you added another big bass which is good, but what about those big sunfish and perch....amazing day of fishing once again and I I felt like I was there with you...God Bless and Go KATS!!!!!!!!!!
Hey John great video if you have that problem with them not shutting there mouth again try dipping the bump board in the water and trying it again sometimes that plastic will get hot in the sun and It makes them not relax
Kayak fishing is fun but man people gotta be careful. I was cruising through a boat lane just after dark. My wife yells “stop, stop!” There was a kayaker in the boat lane around a blind corner. I almost had a heart attack but the dude was like “sorry, my bad.” I love fishing out of my kayak so I get it, no biggie. Good video John!
Another great video, perch is still on my species list to catch. Most recently caught my first Speckled Brook Trout and man I have to say it was the most awesome fishing experience I have ever had! Thanks for the continues content and sharing God's gift to us all :)
Dr. Pepper, chips and a Nikko hellgrammite......man, John's living the life!! I have found the craw to be an excellent bait. So far, I have done best when fished very slow on the bottom.
John, After that day on the water, time to upgrade the Kayak, that was a nice rig you were in. Rod mounts, fish finder and all. Talk to Bethany Rudd maybe she can demand one for you too. Her model would be ideal for your type of fishing.
You’ll have to get back there during the early or late winter months to harvest some yellow perch for some fish tacos, fish & chips, or just some fried fish and hush puppies!!!😋
Great video and that peddle drive makes it look alot easier to get around. If I eventually get a peddle drive I want the Native Propel Slayer 10. Its specs show that it's only 62 lbs without the drive so I think it would be easier to move around than most of the other peddle drives. That is a beautiful lake. 👊👍
That's the kayak I have. There's pluses and minuses to them all. On the Slayer 10, the pluses are the light weight and portability. The minuses are the same...lighter boats = wind and current moves them extremely easy. It's 10' long so it fits in most regular truck beds. But..short kayaks don't track well, meaning you continually have to keep your hand on the rudder control while peddling; in other words, it doesn't track straight. It's overall stable; no issues sitting and fishing. I do occasionally stand and stretch my legs but it is a little wobbly. It's not a bad starter peddle drive boat but I guarantee it won't be long before you want something bigger. I've had mine 3 months and have fished a ton out of it. I'm already wanting something bigger. My wife just got a new peddle drive that is 11' long but the same width as the Propel 10. That 1 foot makes it a ton more stable and it tracks so much better. My next one will be no less than 12 foot. Good luck out there.
It's amazing to me how you get those feisty bass to lay on that board and pose for their picture. I think that you are the fish whisperer. LOL. Happy fishing.
@@oldmanfred8676 never checked into it in GA..my best in 2001..14 inches 2.65lbs....and 5 years later had a shellcracker same pond I thought was a bass break 10lb mono in open water..it was probably 16 inches 3lbs..I actually cried
@@oldmanfred8676 I caught the biggest one with a house key tied to my line..for weight caught 7 that day. That one was the biggest and they started spawning..I watched them..all were over a pound
A small 1/8 oz or larger bass live rubber jig with a crawfish trailer Fish it slow on the bottom or just off the bottom It will catch the bass Also it will shock you all the other fish that will somehow fit it in their mouths As I was using that type of jig the other day for smallmouth bass and I kept hooking large rock bass and Channel Catfish
This is what Google said: When a bass is held at an angle greater than 10 degrees it puts a lot of pressure on the jaw of the fish and this can cause the jaw to dislocate, which can then result in the fish not being able to properly close its mouth.
What's your go to length for hellagremites and other plastics. I fish w lot of the same types of waters. To bad you didn't come to Mammoth Spring Arkansas, nice fish in the spring river.
