Great fishing hole. I had never caught a trout so...years ago me and my son set out to do just that. We got our trout stamps and yellow canned corn, it was recommended by a local for bait. We had a blast catching several Brown trout. We released them all. Stay safe and have a Blessed Day.

@1:46, that rock across the river from you, I have climbed out on it many a times and had some great luck. Back in July I caught a lot of walleye from that rock, I had no idea they were this far up on the river.

Ohh man I just seen the walleye you had reeled in! Sorry to see it get away though... but yes, there are some big walleye in there. I managed to get one in from the rock I was telling you about, that was 22 inches long. They get bigger, but that is the largest one I've ever hauled in. Great video John and Chris!

Of all his videos this place is my favorite spot, to watch John fish, that isn't one of the small creeks. My all-time favorite is when John is fishing the little creek between the shopping center and roadway.

I have never seen such a wide variety of fish caught in one spot. And they were all good fish for eating. I used to catch yellow perch in Lake Michigan and they were the best tasting fish I ever ate except for walleye. I'm just an Arkansas hillbilly but we keep those fish I cook them for dinner. Except for the largemouth bass does not taste very good without removing the black line and marinating in lemon juice. But the perch, crappie, and the bluegill (bream) and the walleye go into the frying pan.

We can’t get that close to our dams and spillways. They have buoy lines you have to stay behind on them. There’s no minimum length or limit on yellow perch or walleye in our area either. After we discovered bass we stopped fishing much for trout but here there are some blue ribbon trout streams. Now if only I could find something biting here.😂

Obviously a very competent fisherman. Amazing to see the various species in the south, in particular east Tennessee. Did you ever fish the Little Tennessee before TVA ruined it and incredible history? I'm old enough to have had the privilege. And the amazement of being a young boy not being able to decide on catching rainbows or finding arrowheads from different bows. Sorry to reminisce. I enjoy your laid back videos and cool spots.

I am glad I found your channel. I live in Chattanooga / East Ridge and have started fishing again after not touching a rod in 10 years. Back then when I sold my bass boat and all tackle I was through fishing. I started over now with my grandson and am having to replace my tackle and do pond and bank fishing which I never did. Your channel has been a big help with what to use fishing from ponds and banks. Thanks

John, I know how much you love light and ultralight fishing, but if i could make. a suggestion. When fishing stronger currents like in this video, upsize your line. You favor 4#, in this video, I would've gone with 8 maybe even 10. The fish don't have as much time to see your line and with the faster current have a tendency to be more aggresive. In running water, bluegill seem to know how to orient their bodies to use the current to their advantage. I swear if they got to the size of a bass, you would need deep sea tackle to land them.

Whenever I hook a larger bluegill I never think it's a bluegill. I always expect to land a bass or large crappie BUT it's just a "fights like the Hulk" bluegill. 😂😂

#creekfishingadventures Those yellow perch are some primo eating! I have fished that place many times back in the late 90's and early 2000's. Theres another good trout hole down stream you know where those culverts go under the road on your way in. We would use those heavy clear bullet shaped floats that would cast a mile. We used crickets or red worm with a salmon egg on the point of the hook, they loved that rig!

Get you some yozuri hybrid line, you won't regret it! Best line i have ever used, i get it at academy. Its florocarbon and mono mixed, casts a mile and doesn't backlash. Works on spinning and baitcasters.

Amazing fishing! One thing you might try would be jdm spoons. I do not know what it is about them, but I seem to catch everything on them. They work particularly well one trout and panfish.

@@jonnygranville281 There are a few different ways to fish them, but the most common, and my favorite, is just a straight retrieve that barely makes it swim. If the spoon spins, you are retrieving it to quickly.

@@jonnygranville281 No problem. My only advice would be to dish out the money for a few jdm spoons. I have tried usdm spoons, and they just do not work as well at all. one other thing is that for most trout and panfish, you will not need anything heavier than 2.5 g and most fishing can be done quite comfortably with 1-1.8 g spoons. Between y'all, I'd say that it was a "Rainbow" day, what with your Friend catching that Rainbow Trout to kick things off. I tried to keep up, sooo... let's see how I did. Some Yellow Perch, a Walleye, some Crappie, some Bluegills, and at least one Largemouth Bass. I will say, though-With that being a River, and with you using a Hellgrammite at least once, I'm surprised that no Smallmouth Bass were biting! That's very odd, that they wouldn't take advantage of chompin' down on a Hellgrammite like that. All in all, looks like you and your friend Chris had a great day, fishing-wise. God bless!

Nice fishing man, I like your content and I live in West Virginia and I want you to come here and fish the Kanawha river at the Dam in Winfield , There is a creek called 18 mile creek, Greenbrier river, New River, and a there is are two ponds in the northern panhandle and they are located in Cacapon State Park, And there is also Babcock state park and bring your Kayak to all of them. Please take these into consideration.

Harder to find a good bite with all those species you caught. Wish you would promote your fishing friends channels like you list your gear in your title comment. I can tell the quality difference in your camera gear as you keep upgrading it too. I love river fishing over lake fishing 🎣 too.
