Caught On Camera: Stock Motor Blew Up At 26psi While Racing, Found The Limits Of The Motor 

It sucks but it’s something you can’t kill yourself about but for sure the car will be solid and make a lot more power without worrying bout breaking it

lol i’m surprised myself it help you this long honestly like we’ve beaten the crap out of this car. all i had to do was turned it down a little bit and it would’ve been fine. the motor is strong the car was tuned right. i wouldn’t blame the motor for breaking id blame myself cuz i knew the limits so all i had to do was back it down since the weather changed but it will be a beast when the built motor and trans go in there 🙂

@@prolificbuilds Yeah bro I get you sometimes we want to see more of what it can do knowing that it's risky but that's how the game is. Does the tune adapt at all to weather conditions like will it detect inlet air temp and lower boost if it gets colder? That makes sense why the engine blew too much cold air and to much boost demand sounds about right for it to blow the way it did mid pull. You guys had it right on the money 20ish psi is still safe but 26psi and 600plus whp is insane. At the crank I feel it was a good bit more too. After a year the b284 still delivered what I'm guessing was about 650 crank hp all stock internals. that's much more than anybody else believed was possible. w some people experiencing stretched chains and bent rods with smaller turbo high boost situations in low rpms w too much torque.

@@nedlerswedlers19 the motor will try to adjust itself but it won’t lower the boost. any turbo car will make more boost in colder temps as any engine will perform better in cooler weather. but yeah car was solid i could run it at 20psi all day long and it will be fine. also a good set up on the car so it makes power so easy. i’ve heard a lot of ppl have issues with rods and chains i just don’t understand how cuz i’ve never had those. Maybe cuz they are trying to push the car with a baby turbo which makes the engine work twice as hard. a good set up and the car will be solid

@@prolificbuilds I see your point. On my previous turbo cars and Saab 2.0T (Subie,Dsm) It would boost like 21psi in the 90 degree summer and only like 17psi in 30 degree winter. I spoke w tuners about it and they said that if the car is tuned to make 300hp when it's 95 degrees outside it will ask for like 21 psi. But when it's 30 degrees or something cold it will only need 18 or 17 psi to make the same 300hp because cold weather means efficiency and more power therefore the turbo needs to spin less since colder air is denser and the engine and ECU don't need 21 psi to make the same power. if it would've made 21 psi in cold weather it would've been more than 300hp and it would've been dangerous for the Pistons something like 330hp maybe. that's why the tune is written to account for inlet air temperature and outside temp because the engine could blow if it's cold outside and the car is stuck asking for the same boost. It would make more power than intended. At first I was worried that it was leaking or wasn't right or something but tuners confirmed that that's normal to see that in the change of weather. I thought that fury blew because it was turned up and set to be stable locked at 26 psi no matter what weather condition if it's hot or cold. And in this case the cold weather and 26 psi might have made even more power than expected like around 680 crank hp. Was it logging at the time it blew so you can see how much air it was pushing at the time it blew with the temp? I'm curious to know how much hp and air it hit with 26psi and colder temps.

I burned a valve this summer on my Saab. One of the injector was partially clogged (I let the car under the sun in July (40°C)) with Ethanol. So the mixture was lean in one cylinder. I think that I will tank with fuel before storage next time.
