Right? Like I always thought it was weird when someone says “salmon steak” because when I think steak I think beef or pork so seeing cauliflower “steak” I really went 🤨. Considering she had it at a restaurant it’s probably just a buzzword to get people to buy it and an excuse to overcharge for roasted cauliflower. It’s just a better way to roast cauliflower rather than just roasting the little chunks because when you slice them like “steaks” they have a larger and more even surface area for browning and seasoning so they probably do taste better when prepared that way.
A steak describes the cut of meat, not the animal source or body part, which is why there are also pork shoulder or butt steaks and salmon steaks. The cauliflower in the recipe is cut in a similar manner, so it's also called a steak. Eggplant and mushroom are also other common vegetables that can be cut into steaks.

Some folks are making an effort to invent meat substitutes that arent lab meats or insect/worm food. These cauli-steaks especially if breaded give a wee bit of "meat" sensation to the palate. It resembles a very mild white fish more than chicken breast.
Folks rented a home and we took care of their two cats. The only thing they ever got on was my devan but only when it was open! I don't know how they trained them. One was 17 the other only 2 or 3. They were indoor+outside cats.

These cauliflower steaks are so good. Been making them for years. For those of us who don't eat oil, here'show I make them. Cut them the same way, but I use a little low sodium broth to cook them in. I use a ceramic, non stick pan . Let them brown slightly, while adding a little broth now and then to you liking. Oven not necessary, but ok to use if you like.
Roasted cauliflower is 😍🤤🥰 even with minimal seasoning, its flavor is just lovely. That said, I LOVE roasted cauliflower cheese with that kerrygold Irish cheddar
I use my toaster oven/air fryer combo thingy to cook fingerling poataoes like this for my family 😊 really made me appreciate the simple deliciousness of roasting ANYTHING in olive oil, salt, and pepper. I dust mine with garlic powder and a bit of rosemary or oregano and SHEESH it’s awesome. Plus, the tray that comes with the toaster oven is THE PERFECT size for my family’s serving of potatoes.
I wouldn't eat that food cause of that damn cat. Now for those that allow a animal to eat off the same plate is down right nasty. Animals such as a dog have bacteria that humans can contract which can lead to them having them their arms and legs amputated. Just chop up the cauliflower into whatever size bits you want. Try for half inch size. Slice up onions, wash and clean some peas. Take a wok or kadai or pan, add oil, add some mustard seeds, let it splutter and add cumin seeds. Toss in the chopped cauliflower, onions and peas, add some red chilli powder corriander cumin and pepper powders and required salt. Add a pinch of devil dung aka asafoetida. Just a Pinch. Cover and cook on slow flame till all the veggies cook. Adjust seasonings as per taste. Saute in between. This tastes so so good it goes well with rice and Indian breads like chapati and roti.
My favorite way to eat cauliflower is once it's Sliced up in steaks, dip it in a fluffy egg white mixture and fry it. I make tacos with then, just a corn Tortilla, cotija cheese, and a sweet tomato salsa.

I love roasted cauliflower I haven’t cut it like this, always full roasted or bits . With butter flavour coconut oil and finish it with Cajun spice and I love it !

Try it with Salt & Allspice on it! You will be amazed! You can deep fry it, or roast it with Eggplant slices & Potato slices or wedges. Makes a simple salad with lettuce & tomatoes. Add olive oil & lemon dressing. Add garlic powder & seasoned salt to taste. Black Pepper optional. Slightly warm & fill mini pitas or larger ones cut in half.🥙Fill pitas with some of each of the 3 vegetables & some salad. You can add fresh minced garlic, if desired. It pairs especially good with the eggplant. Eat the sandwiches. They make an amazing vegetarian meal or just as a change from eating meat everyday. Enjoy!😋

Any recipe for Brussels sprouts? I tried them for the first time 2 months ago. We dont have them in my native country, I thought they would be a bit crunchy like cabbage. I hated the texture, I want to like them bcoz I love cabbages but I dont know what they’re supposed to taste like. I tried roasting, putting in soup and sautéing them but the texture seems off to me.

Accidently ordered Cauliflower steak, thinking it was just a Cauliflower breading. It was served with mashed potatoes. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised to find myself enjoying this meal.
Tbh my take on calling it a steak isn’t that it’s necessarily imitating what we associate as a steak but a center cut of the food I guess and I don’t know how to necessarily describe it but in the same way we call beef steaks, there’s a cut for fish steaks as well which is normally a cutlet..? We just assume the term steak with beef. That’s just my take but I could be totally wrong cause of my translations.

I got tricked, more like I didn’t read the packaging. My cousin bought microwaveable wings and they were really good. But the texture was throwing me off, I took half a bite of one and stared at the middle until I realized it was cauliflower. Still ate it cause it was bomb, I just thought they were slightly weird tasting boneless wings
