My mom had her gallbladder removed and now suffers from poor vision at night. Sounds like bile salts are in her future. Very interesting. I love your videos!
I see perfectly well at night until I'm blinded by bright lights. I seem to be over sensitive to artificial light at night. Any Idea what is causing this?
Evil Genius Rhodopsin: Bright light exposure results in the pigment immediately photo- bleaching, but it naturally regenerates within a few minutes, Alfred Sommer, MD, a professor of ophthalmology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and dean emeritus and professor of epidemiology and international health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, said at the 2013 American Ophthalmological Society meeting. Photobleaching is the process by which the eye is exposed to bright light, and rhodopsins split instantaneously
Also check if you’re deficient in zinc. Zinc is needed to absorb vitamin A. So you can be taking vitamin A and not seeing results at all if you’re deficient in zinc.
But I do eat meats and fish regularly and eat very healthy And I also have light glare and starburst, halos as well as of 7 months ago How can I fix it ?
@DrEricBergDC Is it possible to have Eye Problems from being Vegetarian for YEARS (I've been Keto/Carnivore for 5 years now), and to repair the Eyes with Supplementation? Also, what doses would you recommend for Vitamin A Daily? Thank you!
At night, I have a very hard time distinguishing objects and seeing in front of me. A bright light can blind me for 10 seconds or so. Also, my visual field is really reduced. In the day, I have a hard time distinguishing anything unless it's directly in front of me. Everything on left and right is deformed or "quirky". What could that be? I know I have astigmatism in both eyes and myopia in only one. Also sunglasses completely blind me and reduce my acuity.
***** you are right, but unfortunately it is not available in our India, and powder is very rare to find and too much cost it has in online..I have grown own spinach and I would like to buy kale seed online.. Thanx for the precious information.. Are you related with the health studies ??
No , my mom cook it everyday , I am not fond of spinach but now I should take it seriously and have to consume it.. You are right that Western medicine only undermine the problem , well I am pursuing a food and nutrition certificate course too.. So I am interested in health related topics and Dr. Eric Berg is an institution for all of us.. I will send you some pics of my home garden :)
Eric Berg...THANK YOU! I have been noticing night blindness and they took out my gallbladder in 2000 (I am 51 and want to lose approx. 40 - 50 lbs adrenal/ovary type body) I have started taking you gallbladder support how much do you suggest taking and what would be the best source and how much vitamin A? FYI I also eat a Kosher diet.
Me, as optician, would say that the first reason of night blindness is a low contrast. We see worse just because of phisical principle, not because we have lack of some vitamin
Eric Berg Light source absence. The less objects are illuminated, the less is the difference between bright and shade parts of them and harder to see separately two points. It may be confused with inability to focus, like when you have ametropia, but it's a different kind of eye limits.
I have severe night blindness I will eat all that you mentioned but also want to take cod liver oil capsules. How many cod capsules would I need to take daily? Thanks.
Is this fully improve the night blindness if it is at starting phase, and what are the preventive measures for a medium class family. Waiting for reply...
Eloy Garcia Na You just need to get the doc who recommended you get your gallbladder removed to pay for a lifetime supply of Bile Salts and you'll be goood.
Thanks for the reply's especially you Dr Berg, But I have my gallbladder I was asking for a friend that wanted to try the high fat Keto plan , she has had hers removed and told her to contact you and Subscribe to your channel

oz goz If you take in enough beta carotene, it will convert. that is why chickens, cows, pigs, etc. all have livers full of vitamin A. they convert it from plants... we can go right to the source
John Smith I'm not vegan, I eat sardines and local meat and dairy and eggs, but I'm just saying that not everyone needs to rely on cod liver oil and meat. most of the world gets by fine using beta carotene
Fern Doolittle the conversion is 5% - at most. That's a lot of sweet potatoes. Some people can't even make the conversion. I can't think of any culture that has survived without retinol. Can you? It's the same with many other vitamins. Vegans - been trying to take humans out the food chain since 1971
meta morphosis As said, they will only convert to 4% active vitamin A, if you're lucky. You'll need to consume an ungodly amount of carrots, which isn't ethical to advise; plus, they are quite high in sugar.
