I late-join an Hourly Rapid Arena and share my train of thought as I play 5 games with time control 10+0. This arena began on February 20th, 2024 at 7:01 PM EDT. Many viewers over the years have expressed that these slower time control games act as a sleep aid. You may find that watching these rapid games may help you to improve your chess or help you to reach the rapid eye movement stage of sleep. Enjoy either way. 😊
I'm a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly. Consider subscribing here on RU-vid for frequent content, and/or connecting via any or all the below social medias. Your support is greatly appreciated. Take care, bye. :)

In the first game, 7. hxg4! Qxh1 8. Ne2 followed by 9. Ng3 trapping the queen is a really satisfying line
@samtugendhaft2678
@samtugendhaft2678 7 месяцев назад
Thank you. Watching the video I had vague memories of this line and that you could get away with hxg4 but couldn’t remember if it was in the exact position and how the line went.

what about black playing 8. … Nh5 sacrificing the knight but getting the queen out?
@samtugendhaft2678
@samtugendhaft2678 7 месяцев назад
@@Jonas-wd8pl simply gxh5 Qxh5 and either Ng3 or Nf4, developing with tempo. White has two pieces for a rook and a massive lead in development. White should be winning.
@1forlive1999
@1forlive1999 6 месяцев назад
Not really tho. Ne2 Qh5 Ng3 and the Queen just get away. White is indeed went ahead on development but black have a Rook and a safer King, not to mention you can actually castle Queen side and attack on H file

That 2nd game checkmate was very satisfying and educational. A pawn so deep in your territory should not be ignored like your opponent did.

Wanted to sleep, but I happened to watch the whole thing instead... and wow. So satisfying to see you win the first 4 games under 20 moves, especially with such a calm composure. No fancy moves, no book traps, just elegant thinking. Thank you for the "awakeness", Jerry :)

You know what would be cool? If it were possible to rank players on lichess by number of novel games played. Then people could compete and try to play the as yet unplayed games.
