Ahhhhh at that price you are better off buying a bike with wheels, totally unrealistic pricing

Stopped watching the second he said the price. That price is *absurd* lol

At $1000 it's not even competitive with the Zwift offering, let alone buying a $300 single speed to dedicate to a trainer. DOA.

I’ll wait for about a year and get one off eBay for about half to a third of the price.

I like the frame. I like the design. I like you can go geared and use it with the CLIMB. I hate to winge but it seems pricey for what you get. I may be off there. One can pick up a very good frame on eBay for less than half the price. I think these bikes are not aimed at the users who wants the cheapest option. You will be very challenged to out compete a used bike frame and a KICKR core. A bike like this should be aiming at the user who wants something better than that. Better looking, more reliable, lower maintenance, more convenient etc. Not having a front derailleur option is a bit of a miss too. If you are going to give a geared option, brazing on a front derailleur mount seems to be a small expense. Since this is not a road bike, not including the option for other accessories that are indoor specific is a bit of a miss also. No tablet mount, no table, no place for phone, head units, multiple bottles for long rides, place to mount a large monitor, towel holder, headphones etc. All these things would create value above and beyond a regular bike frame. You would not want to mount all this right off the bat, most users would not want it. But providing mounting points where these things could bolt on would separate this functionally from a standard bike frame and would drive people to purchase this over a standard frame.. The pre order discount is very small. You are going to hold my money for 4+ months for s discount of 5%. Not much of an incentive for me to order now. Since it is the first product from this company, one does not know how definite the October ship date is. If it was a steeper discount, I would consider buying now. I am not saying no to this but I will wait until they ship before I decide. Never know, there may be more options on the market by then.

I agree. I thought it's a brilliant idea, but just an adjustable frameset and single gear cost 1k?.. I'm off.

people are greedy these days. a bike like that doesn't require fancy tubing. Probably the cheapest tubing with some rust treatment. Maybe even cheap aluminum! that shouldn't cost more than some double digit number. I mean, literally the quality of walmart bike would do it, which sell at a couple hundred.

I bought my new leftover 2023 Trek Domane AL2 for $1000, bikes are cheap, dedicated bare bones trainer frame are getting $$$$$. There also looks like alot of flex on that handle bar mount, being a sprinter I would tear that off, and probably many others as well
@MrNerdtron
@MrNerdtron 11 дней назад
The bars flexing was the first thing I noticed. Didn't look like an all out effort either.

brilliant review, really well thought out. As for Rivet, I love my wahoo, and enjoy both zwift and rouvy, might just stick with my current setup bike and avoid sweating all over play controller buttons :o

Make this compatible with motion, like with the Tacx Neo line, and I am in.
@kovie9162
@kovie9162 25 дней назад
I think that a nice feature in a future version would be the ability to pivot side to side and steer, to better simulate real bike banking and steering (which would interface with the app as the Sterzo Elite does) and save wear and tear on the rear dropouts, and perhaps even some fore-aft movement to better simulate real world ring. This could be built into the rear axle, steerer tube and front mount, and be independent of and work with a riser attachment. I'd still go with a cheap used bike though if I was looking to set up a permanent trainer.

What about GATE-option? Should they "cut" rear triangle to adjust the RIVET for gate drivetrain?
@deanke18
@deanke18 25 дней назад
I ended buying a full indoor smartbike from a brand named BH fitness for less then €800. You don't need that extra smart trainer, it is just built in and has road bike geometry as well. Next to that it has a belt drive. Which is way more solid and will wear out way slower then a chain
@robertcoetzee191
@robertcoetzee191 25 дней назад
The duel feet in front wont work for me since my v6 is mounted on a rocker plate.
@DesFit
@DesFit 24 дня назад
You need that full-length rocker plate! 😆 Kidding. Yes, the dual leg design, while allowing for CLIMB compatibility has some limitations with rocker plates and side to side movement.

The mark 2 version of zwift cog is going to have inbuilt indexing adjustment so maybe that'll improve noise

With my time with the V2 cog, I'm not sure if it will have enough adjustment to create an ideal chainline but it's certainly a possibility!

I spent some time designing a dedicated frame like this, gave up based on price, you cant compete with a aliexpress carbon frame. Not having a belt drive capability is a showstopper too. Too bad, this looks good overall
@michaelcleveland98
@michaelcleveland98 25 дней назад
It looks quite well thought out. The 'stem' seems to have a fair amount of flex in it. Is that going to carry forward into final design? I do like that you can also play with geometry, etc. before transferring it to your bike/s. Also, that tan is just.... bleh!

@lastpme

Interesting. I also use my first road bike as my indoor trainer, so that bike has not been outside since 2020. I think if you have spare bike, I don't really see the need for this...but if you only have one bike and you want to get into indoor training, I think this is the way to go. I do have concerns with the Wahoo full time bike, because I would be concern if it breaks and going through the hassle of shipping the bike back to the company. It the trainer breaks, shipping a bike training is too bad. I like this setup better than the Zwift bike that came out since this allow the rider to us a Climb.
@kovie9162

I have just one bike and don't find it to be too big of a pain to remove the rear wheel and install it on my Core, the remove it and reinstall the wheel for outdoor riding. I'm usually either riding exclusively or almost entirely indoors or outdoors, depending on the season, so I can usually avoid the wheel removal and reinstallation step. It's actually more of a pain to do all the other things I have to do to ride indoors, since I don't have a permanent location for it, like lay out a pad, place the Core on it, plug the adapter into the outlet and then into the Core, and so on, then undo it all when I'm done. Having said that, if I did have room for a permanent setup, I'd probably still use my road bike on it as it really isn't that much of a hassle and like I said I'm usually either entirely or mostly riding indoors or outdoors, so the bike would probably be installed on it full time in the off season and barely on it during warmer months, when the Core would be stored someplace out of the way. Everyone has their own preferences and situation though, of course.

I think all these smart frame manufacturers are missing a big trick, for those of us that do not have a dedicated garage / room for training a smart frame that folded up into the footprint of the trainer and easily opened up into it's training format without having to pull the whole setup apart, think of a kids fold up stroller and apply that to the smart frame. Just think of the ease of storage for apartment livers or people with limited storage space!! Combine that with a belt drive and you've perfection. Now a smart frame like this would convince me to buy it over the bulky dedicated bike frame I currently use. just replacing that bike with a similarly bulky (non-smart in my opinion) frame has no attraction whatsoever.

@Thomas-fy9yc
@Thomas-fy9yc 26 дней назад
Way too pricey for what you get….you can a real alloy bike for a little more, used for less…also, people like me who dumped Zwift after 3 years this month due to their massive price hike…and most of us dont want to be locked into the Zwift ecosystem…especially since virtual shifting for kickr V5 still isn’t avail, cheating is still rampant, and excellent alternatives such as Mywhoosh is out there.
