In this video, I show what Cayo Costa State Park, and in particular the Pelican Bay area looks like both before and after Hurricane Ian. I had filmed a family trip about a month before Hurricane Ian hit where we live in Southwest Florida, Cape Coral, and it was several months before we were able to go out and see what the island looked like with all of the damage.
To our amazement and joy, the island did pretty well. The sandbar has definitely shifted but it was still a lot of fun nonetheless. We are excited to see the continual improvement.

We are new to Cape Coral and love it here. Luckily we had very little damage to our house from the hurricane. I really enjoy your videos and drone footage. One suggestion I have is that you describe what we are seeing, either with a voice over or just titles on the screen. Being new here I don't know all of the places to go yet and am eager to learn all of them. Even describing where you launch your boat, the path that you take, and how long it takes to get there would be great. There are so many videos that you could do showing all of the great places to boat to around here. This is why most of us are moving to Cape Coral. Keep up the great work. Also, love seeing your beautiful family, how lucky you all are to be able to share in these wonderful adventures!

That was pelican bay off if cayo costa. It is just past cabbage key across from the north end of pine island. About half an hour from you by boat. Our favorite anchorage on Earth!!!
