Here's a CBC Newfoundland sign-off from early June 9, 2006. The Ode to Newfoundland is presented here. Every other station prior to going 24/7 later in the year had a CBC Television animation like would be seen in the Montreal video recorded 5 months earlier.

Man I use to love the CBC... radio & Television both French and English ... now not anymore 😒 love the Ode to Newfoundland though... thank you for the memories of a much better world & time🙏

I had to restart the video because there were 15-second and 6-second commercials preceding it. I hate commercials before RU-vid videos!

How odd, two national anthem videos! I know CKY and CFTO also played the British anthem, but this one has two separate “O Canada” films!

I thought CBC would be a carbon copy of the BBC, even down to the presentation style.

We are somewhat similar to the BBC.

@@camfrazer3825 except the BBC doesn't have adverts and requires a licence fee. The CBC is a mixture of the BBC and CTV.

I remember watching this on Satellite 🛰️ back in the late 80s and early 90s.....to be able to watch Canada on TV from California...was Fantastic......To get Newfoundland was Cool...this was before your tube and the net!!!
