Hi ma'm, My daughter has full spectrum learning diability that is dyslexia dysgraphia and dyscalculia. She does not want to do subjects that include studying maths science and social studies. Can she do 5 subjects as follows: English, Drama, Art and Design, Music and Food and Nutrition? Please suggest as she cannot do even basic maths and reading and writing is a challenge for her. Also do you think IGCSE is a right choice for her or should she choose another board?
At Wolsey Hall Oxford students have the option to choose whatever subjects they wish. It is important to bear in mind their future plans though as some higher education institutions and employers will require Maths. We offer English at IGCSE level but not the other subjects you mention. You can find our full list of IGCSE courses here: wolseyhalloxford.org.uk/level/igcse/
Hi, Wolsey! I'm 41 from Malaysia and interested in furthering my studies. I'm planning to do Media studies. May I know which IGCSE & A-Level courses should I take for Media Studies?
If you are considering becoming s student with Wolsey Hall Oxford, then we have a University Advice Service where you will be able to discuss subject choices to make sure you are studying the right ones. wolseyhalloxford.org.uk/how-homeschooling-works/university-advice-service/
Thank you mam for sharing this information. Can you please share the prospects of students who opt for igcse and still want to pursue their engineering in India. Will they be at a disadvantage when they appear for competitive exams in India.
The IGCSE and A level exams are accepted by top Universities around the world. Students can complete their education up to age 18 using our courses and then apply to University with these qualifications. We would however, always recommend you check with your University of choice that they are happy to accept these qualifications and that you have chosen the right combination of subjects for the course you require. We have a University Advisor for students enrolled with Wolsey Hall who can help you with this also.
Yes this would be possible but you would be best discussing this with our Admissions Team by submitting an enquiry. Following submitting this enquiry form, you will have a call with a member of our admissions team. During this call, you will be able to speak about your specific circumstances and then they will offer you tailored advice. Please use this link to make an enquiry wolseyhalloxford.openapply.com/
As described in the video, IGCSE is very different to ICSE in terms of content and delivery, so it is difficult to say if it is more difficult. However, it is accepted by top Universities around the world so is well worth having. The Cambridge IGCSE courses are also designed to develop University ready Independent learners, so if you are hoping to go to University, it is a good choice.
