Hello everyone! This is a test of the accuracy of my Sanwa YX-361TR on actual household AC voltage supply, at 230V 60Hz nominal. Since I was using my electronic loads, aircon, and LED lamps, I expected some voltage harmonics distortion in the downstream outlet location. This analog multimeter was only specified for pure sine wave voltage. Yet it measured values very close to the reading of my reference meter, the Hioki CM3286-01 True RMS Digital AC Clamp Power Meter despite the harmonics distortion at 6.7%. This is good enough for an analog multimeter. I tested only at 250V AC range snice this is the most common range used by electricians when troubleshooting electrical problems on homes in my area.

Correction lang po. I mentioned in the video that the instrument may not give correct result on AC voltage when frequency is other than 50Hz or 60Hz. This is an oversight on my part and I apologize. In fact, the meter was specified for AC Voltage Frequency from 40Hz to at least 1kHz based on its specifications.

This rectification that you make is necessary. The Sanwa YX-361TR analog multimeter, unlike conventional digital multimeters (those that are not True rms) offers a true rms value up to the frequency limits indicated in the specifications as long as the signal is sinusoidal. For other waveforms, this model of multimeter could not offer a true rms value (Sanwa has true rms analog multimeter models, also more expensive). Congratulations for the video. I didn't know you are from the Philippines. So, a big hug for you and for the Philippines from Spain. Spain does not forget the Philippines and our common history.

@@mateoferrer Thank you for taking the time to explain. I could only imagine the price for a TRMS analog multimeter. I think it may not be a practical tool for everyday use but perhaps for educational reasons it will serve its purpose. It's interesting that you mentioned the shared history of the Philippines & Spain. I am on holiday now and I've just visited one of the only 4 Spanish-Era Baroque Churches in the Philippines: the Sto. Tomas De Villanueva Catholic Parish Church in Miagao, Iloilo Philippines. *They don't make churches like this anymore!* It's beautiful and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Have a nice day and thanks for your support!

@@ramschannelreviews Dear 'brother' from the Philippines, don't think that analog multimeters are only good for education. I am just an electronics hobbyist (my profession is very far from this academic discipline) who enjoys fixing things that break down (TV, small electronic devices, ...) and some of my repairs would have been impossible without the multimeter analogical. With an analog multimeter you can quite easily detect leaks in diodes, BJT transistors, capacitors; you can see unstable movements in voltages that should be stable. The only problem with analog multimeters is that they are very fragile and easy to break if you mistake the correct polarization of the test leads. By the way, it is very important that you know that, in measurements with an analog multimeter, you should try to choose that range with which you obtain a reading with the needle located in the central area of the reading panel (avoid, whenever possible, readings with the needle located at the left or right ends of the reading panel). Speaking of the much-loved Philippines, if you ever get the chance, you must visit the 'Site of Baler' on the island of Luzon. After Spain lost the war with the United States, a Spanish detachment, unaware of the end of the war, defended its position in the church of Baler beyond what is required by courage and what is humanly understandable. For almost a year, without food, with hardly anything to drink, in very painful conditions, he refused to surrender to the United States, which used the Philippine insurgency to seize and exploit the population of the archipelago, something against which the Spanish soldiers fought to exhaustion. A movie was even made narrating this unique act of infinite courage that honors Filipinos and Spain: "The last of the Philippines"! Sorry for my english.
