The street in Maolboal the nicest place in that town a few years ago.. Cleanup will only happen when funds are not skimmed by the local political managers. They never rebuilt after the typhoon and nobody ever picks up the refuse. Wonderful people but lack pride of ownership.

This is the problem with travelling, people can tell you it's amazing but when you get there it can be so disappointing. Once you start feeling down you just have to move on.

How bad that room loked until you showed us the balcony and the view....

Why all the fuss about smoking outside, I am a non smoker but am not troubled by people smoking in the street, not all places are like this in the Philippines, try the small island of Siquijor across the ocean from Dumaguete, beautiful island with hardly any traffic, do not be put off the Philippines by this one video, I have been here more than 13 years and I am staying....

People pay an environmental fee. I don't know why they don't use that money to clean the place. I'm embarrassed as a Filipino-American, it takes an English tourist/vlogger to point out the problem. Anyway, maybe I live in the states for way too long 🤷. I could not connect with my people anymore.

If you come to the Philippines to enjoy the Attraction, don't look for the rubbish and the things you don't like. If I go to Australia, i also will definitely find more trash and things I don't like if I look for it.

According to Vagabond Awake the Philippines is paradise on earth. I never want to be stuck in a place like this.

Love your honesty. Funny I got exactly the same feeling about the Philippines 20 years ago. Most places are crappy. Some towns are just grubby with no pride and a McDonald’s can suddenly look like a shining palace in comparison.

A up Sean how be on? I had exactly the same take on the Philippines, Palawan is mediocre at best! I had to leave because the food was proper shite and I’d had enough of walking around in a landfill. People were friendly enough though. Been in Thailand since November and still love the country. Go well 🙏🏻👍🏼

Camiguin is an interesting island if you have the time...

20 odd years ago there were a few nice places to visit in and around Cebu. Malapascua being one of them, but I hear its since been over developed. Bantayan Island is still nice, so I'm told. Sand like talcum powder on Sante Fe beach, if memory serves. Filipino hotels have always been overpriced for some reason.

My friend is a captain of super yacht , he say phillipens is a shit hole , forget the brochures of Boracay , the pictures don't show the truth ........😣

i have been in Moalboal like 1 month ago, absolutely loved it, was only sunshine, not expensive at all, u could have a dinner for 300peso, which is cheap, yes there are more expensive places, but u can find really cheap ones too

Everywhere can seem dull and a bit depressing when its rainy or overcast! However I felt the decay of the place and the 'make money' attitude rather than build better! Glad I haven't ventured to this venue! No value for money there! ---Chin up Sean!

What we see is what we get. I note the locals staying well clear of the channel with this sort of content simply because there is no denying every single thing raised and shown. It's caught me by surprise mainly because other content creators only show what the locals want you to see, the subscribers all climb on board and get all gooey over all the misleading content shown. Great work as always Sean and hoping this is not widespread and you can actually enjoy the rest of your travels around the Philippines. Unfortunately the food appears to be an ongoing issue for you although I have eaten Chicken Adobo here in Oz cooked by a mate's missus and really enjoyed that one. That adobo you ate in a previous video was awful looking and fatty and not a good indication of how good that dish can be when prepared and cooked by someone with a little bit of self respect as a chef. Take care buddy 🤩

Pallawan a bit better. Still tommy tourist tat, el nido, coron, expensive boat tours. Port barton, nice unspoilt clean beach, worth a visit. Try to enjoy your visit, hopefully things will improve. If not, get back to the pond mate.

Ha! Flashpackers mate! The beach at Moalboal was washed away by typhoons decades ago. It looks grim now! I recall the diving was good though. Panglao Island was unspoilt and interesting, and the little islet of Balicasag. I've heard Palawan is the best, though I didn't make it there. Don't give up, Sean. Aw, man, we need you out there..!😎

from Cebu city take a ferry to Bohol and Alhona beach is a good choise

I stayed at Anthony's about 8 years ago. In your very room in fact. It's the Faulty Towers of the Philippines. I spent the first hour cleaning the bathroom lol.... but the balcony was awesome. Is the wifi still sexyman? Moalboal itself seems to have been smashed by the typhoon. It was more beachside boutique when I was there... looks a bit more like a bombsite now. White beach is (was?) worth a visit.

The percentage of garbage and plastic Philippines puts in the ocean triples every other countries in southeast Asian....crazy

Welcome to SE Asia 😂 There is many beautiful places in the Philippines, and some of the best beaches in the world, with some of the loveliest people in the world, hopefully you’ll show some of them places, maybe head for Coron or El Nido, Siargao etc

I'm sure I missed out, but I never went to The Philippines because of stories from friends who spent a lot of time there who bragged about how filthy and dangerous it was, and that getting sick was just part of the adventure and bragging rights. By comparison, I never got food poisoning in Thailand, or even an upset stomach, and I think it has to do with the Thai emphasis on sanitation and fresh food. Never got sick from food in China either, which is hard to figure considering how filthy it is. I was sick most of the year I was in Mexico, and much of the time in India, Malaysia and Taiwan. But the sickest I've frequently been is in the U.S. when I used to eat in restaurants. I suspect it's all industrialized crap that's old and rotten and laced with antibiotics disinfectants, chemicals and synthetic sugars that breeds superbugs and kills the bugs in your gut that would normally keep you healthy.

That place is shit hole. Thanks for showing it. How do you keep from getting sick?

Yeah its a funny one, ive done the Philippines twice, Thailand and Vietnam, and must say the Philippines is really nothing in comparison. The food is awful, barring a handful of places its not the prettiest either. Saying that the prettiest are usually the tourist havens like Borocay, we did a round the island boat trip and they tries to add on several extra fees claiming they were government fees, but we challenged them to see these regs but they couldnt and just put us on the boat. Spoils it a bit. The people though are superb. Really lovely folk. Top vlog my man.

Thank you Sean. I was considering Philippines, but after seeing your vlogs I am sticking to Thailand. Seems cheaper, quality 100% better. Philippines pay silly money, for shit holiday, too much poverty, trying to rip off tourists.

Philippines gets typhoon year after year of course its hard to keep things nice. And when nations donate for disasters, local politicians or charities pocket most of it and the rest gets distributed through a camera patting themselves for good deed. Anyways, for deadbeats foreigners, you might be better off in America as they seem to reward them in that lifestyle. I heard in L.A if you don't like working, government just give check away like a drunken sailor.

In the Philippines now. The whole coutry seems like a tourist trap. Will never return here. From the challenges of finding nutritional food to the bad weather to the gossiping right in front of your face and offensive assumptions that as guy traveling alone theres either something wrong with you or your a sex tourist. That's the problem with going to Thailand . Nowhere else in SE asia is as good . I spent 3 months travelling SE Asia and i ended up going back to Phuket twice . Says it all really LOL You just get so much more for your money . Bali is great for accomodation and food by comparsion but you get absolutely mobbed by the street and beach hawks there and the place is crazy crowded . Vietnam was amazing too but found the people very snappy and again its just nowhere near as good as thailand . But i feel blessed to have been to all these places . Enjoy the journey that's what i say :) One place that did surprise me was Malaysia . That was cheap , great food , accomodation and not many western tourists seem to go there at all strangely ??
