Bravissima divina Bartoli. Una vera attrice con una bellissima voce. Adoro la sua Rosina anche se la sua versione di "UNa Voce Poco Fa" non é la mia preferita. E molto chiaro che lei ama cantare e la sua gioia e contagiosa. E un piacere guadarla.

Totally in charge and yet so joyful you can feel the joy radiating from her it is so infectious if only more singer could do this. As always her voice and phrasing are impeccable.
She stuck to repertoire appropriate for her voice. No Carmen or other bigger mezzo roles. This why in my opinion. Roberta Peters and Mariella Devia preserved their voices the same way even their techniques were quite different
The haters are too small a minority to bother with. For the rest of us, she is one of the finest, most life-enhancing, infectiously joyous artists of our lifetime.

Well, you can look for and find the fly in the ointment with everyone and when you finally find someone with a clean technique, it's someone from the 30s from a creaky mono recording. Without a doubt the smallest " famous " voice i ever heard live. But truth be told, she brought me to tears in one of the Vivaldi arias in Boston early in the 2000s. Never before, never since.
I know her coloratura technique is up for debate but her voice is remarkably well-intact. You would be hard-pressed to find a younger, up-and-coming singer who sounds better. And say what you will, but she never bores.
My thoughts exactly. There is literally a video of her doing this in 1989 (which was 33 years ago) and her voice now sounds just as fresh and as agile as it did back then. You can criticise someone's technique all you want but if their voice remains intact for over three decades of serious singing, then they're not the one in the wrong. So I'm happy you have said this.
you can't compare her with young singers. she is allowed to sing the same rep over and over and over again - thing that NO young singer is allowed to do these days. van dam sang north of 300 shows of figaro. tell me anybody else who can do this nowadays. nobody in the management and in the audience is patience today to see a singer grow and go through different repertoire. and BTW her fees are INSANE compared to the young generation so i would be able too to preserve my voice singing 30 shows a year and having total artistic control over the production. there are fantastic singers nowadays but nobody cares about protecting them and let them develop.
@@princegolaud6771 I don't think going up and down the entire baroque, classical, and bel canto timeline several times over is exactly "the same rep". I do, however, agree with you that many young singers are pushed too hard too early, without adequate training that would equip them with proper technique.
Paging Mr Gelb…… I remember reading many years ago Miss Bartoli saying she wanted to be able to retire singing Rosina just as Leontyne Price was able to do with Aida. Bartoli’s could do that when the times comes.
I always enjoy her character driven choices where the sound is a reflection of the emotion and dialogue. A lot of American artists make the text and attitudes subservient to a sound, which isn’t true to the art form.

On pourrait souligner l’intelligence de l’artiste qui ne s’aventure plus dans les registres aigus au risque de montrer l’usure du temps sur ses capacités vocales, ou bien s’il faut regretter une exposition publique d’un naufrage musicale que la dignité aurait dû nous épargner. On ne peut pas être et avoir été… il est préférable d’arrêter trop tôt plutôt que trop tard 😢😢😢
Of course, a singer cannot sing the same way for several decades. But as long as the singer has an audience, especially a large one (because it cannot find a suitable replacement), the performance is justified and welcome.
Siempre me ha parecido una Mezzosoprano muy habil y buena. Su mayor característica es su vibrato, el cual maneja a su antojo, su mixvoice y voz de cabeza son Brillantes. Sin duda alguna, la mejor representante contemporánea de las Mezzosopranos liricas.
Lo mismo que existe el subtipo del tenor bufo y barítono bufo, bien podríamos hablar de la soprano bufa, y Cecilia Bartoli sería el mejor ejemplo. Todo lo que hace con intención cómica consigue su propósito, y su histrionismo al cantar es la guinda del pastel. En este sentido, su trabajo es absolutamente honesto y saca el partido adecuado a su voz; una voz que apenas tendría volumen para ser oída por encima de una orquesta sinfónica completa en grandes teatros, que incluso en gran parte del repertorio de belcanto estaría limitada para producir papeles completos.
@@alejandrotm Cómo bien lo dijo ella en una entrevista en España y como bien lo sabemos los cantantes líricos, ella es una mezzosoprano, dado su rango vocal. Así, que es un error clasificarla en el grupo de las sopranos, otro es decir que es "bufo (a)".

Quisiera decir algo bueno obvio vocalmente, una ocasión me preguntaron qué opinión tenia de esta mezzo y dije, te aguantas lo que opine., por favor dígame, y sí, me parece una gallina cacaraqueando, y es un piropo. Se molestó y le dije que no me gustaba ni su voz abirregada ni su color qué molesta al oído. Nimodo asi la oigo.
Truly remarkable but I think it would have worked better if she was dressed like a witch, for comedy. She's playing the quirky comedy so well but the dress doesn't match.
You realise she is not performing the entire production and that this one song is part of a bigger evening of songs… have you not been to an ‘evening with…’ style of concert? Where a solo singer sings various songs in one evening? They usually dress beautifully and only in one outfit. Dressing up as a witch or a pigeon or a donkey and changing again between each and every song would surely be very impractical, no?
