4/5/21 NEWS FLASH!!! BEFORE WATCHING THIS : TRY CYCLING THE FAN CIRCUIT BREAKER, IT MIGHT RE-LINK THE RECIEVER TO YOUR REMOTE!!!!
SUBSCRIBERS NEEDED: NOT so "UNIVERSAL" are remote's seems like every base frequency, is different from the old ceiling fan receiver. The 4 switches inside only slightly adjust the base frequency. The receiver inside the fan is designed to be replaced, when the remote dies, so pick a remote you like because its going to take the same energy to replace fan's receiver. (the 5th switch in the remote for Incandescent light Bulbs)

*Love it! Keeps the room very **Fastly.Cool** . The manual states it comes with a year warranty and 5 year part replacement. The compressor makes the typical sound...small price to pay for AC.*

Congrats on a great diy video. You were the only channel I could find that got to the point quickly, covered all the pertinent elements and made it easy to understand. I really don't want to do this job as I know mine will be a nightmare, but at least I know what I'm up against before I start.

Make sure you cycled the circuit breaker, before doing anything. Because mine was acting up after I did the repair and I turned off the circuit breaker and turned it back on, and it started working again!

I started to watch your video saying a new remote wouldn’t work w/o changing the receiver. Well, I have an old Hampton Bay remote from the fan in a BR, I was able to the change the numbers on it matching the LR fan & it worked perfectly. Idk, but I’m glad I tried anyway & didn’t need to replace the receiver!

THAT IS FANTASTIC! Did the new remote look like the old remote? I bought one Hampton Bay said was "universal" and had zero luck even with matching the codes. The two remotes look quite different in my case.

I lost the remote so I had to buy a new one. Had no idea how to get to the receiver. Your video helped me find it, reset the code, and put it back together~ THANK YOU!!!

I would recommend putting black tape around the wire nuts, just in case.

If your old remote still lights up try cycling the power on the fan using the circuit breaker, then retry the old remote. this worked for me, and the old remote was paired again.

My original has a thermostat control and an LCD display and the remote controlled the lights with a dimmer and has several fan speeds. The remote buttons are difficult to get to work when pressed and when I turn the power off and on I hear the receiver, but it does not connect with the remote! My remote has no dip switches in it! I bought the fan at sears long before they closed in my town! A search for my remote online said it was a hunter, but Hunter said it's not one they made. I called home depot and they were supposed to sell this brand, but they have no replacement remotes that have the features I have! So I will find a set like you got, but with the features I had!

Did you try cutting power from the circuit breaker and then restoring power sometimes that helps the transmitter Reconnect with the original remote

Dog was really helpful and keeping you safe, good video I will keep this for reference, I just bought a ceiling fan that comes with remote BUT; I've and many of (you) have seen remote controls kick the dust, so then what? RU-vid is great for DIY

Do I really need to change the receiver?..Can I just change the position of the jumper settings in the transmitter to the same settings as the ones in the receiver?

I specifically bought my kit from Hampton Bay to match my existing transmitter and just reset the new remote to work with the old receiver. It didn't work! The only other possibility might be to find a used identical remote to your old one then maybe it will have the same frequency range and settings to your existing receiver. Let us know how it goes!

@@axeman2525 Contacted the manufacturer and they don't sell or repair remotes. Now I have a perfectly working fan but useless because can't find and identical remote. Way to go HUNTER!!👎🤬

By "cycling the fan circuit breaker", do you mean resetting the circuit breaker (slide off then back on) at my basement "fuse" box. If that isn't what you mean, then I need more thorough instructions please.
