Drake, Usain Bolt, Roy Keane, Nelson Mandela, Neil Lennon, K-pop group Twice as their own song is danced to in front of a big crowd in Times Square and Tik-Toker Addison Rae email: newburymr@gmail.com
@@nathanbedfordforest Well, that's how a kindergarten would interpret it. Get yourself out of the box and think farther. That woman is an artist, and probably meant that even if Jay Z is rich and famous he still would take the subway atleast for once, to a performance.
for the people who were confused about the Korean girl group one, the people dancing were cover artists and the two girls that were in front of the cameraman are actually members of the real group
Yeah, the others that get kinda pissed off/disgruntled/mad at some guy guarding the parking lot or doing security is messed up. It's not their fault they're not informed well enough by the event organizers or them being late. They're just there doing their job, and they should appreciate the fact they take their job seriously cus that ultimately adds to the security that they take their routine seriously and won't let anyone in just because they say so. Usually artists etc. have a badge/ID, certain acts (regardless of how popular) are used to be the main character or wants to be perceived as such and look down on people that don't instantly know who they are... Man, I hate those people
I love the fact that Jay Z doesn’t recognize artist Ellen Grossman, and that she doesn’t recognize him. Two artist reduced to being just NewYorkers on the train
@@DEE111P just reminded me of a skit on graham Norton. Where Jamie fox dosnt recognise the name of a bar and Patrick Stewart looks gutted. Jamie then goes say the name again so Patrick does. Then Jamie is like "omg tower bar? How did you get tickets for there?" As if it's a popular place. 😂😂
Ah yes Nelson Mandela the man who was known for playing every sport known to mankind. He is the absolute goat, Jerry rice couldn’t even hold a candle to him in football, and Michael Jordan has said that the final dunk in space Jam was inspired by a dunk he saw Nelson Mandela do. David Beckham has always said he wanted to bend it like Mandela. A true inspiration.
Mandela wasn't the sort of player to chase fame and celebrity. I used to watch him training at the local frozen water ice hockey pond rink arena thing way back, before he became the legend that I've heard he believed that some people thought he was. He was a humble athlete. Respect!
I met him back when he used to sell tapes on the corner, my aunt and his aunt are very good friends. He is a hard worker, nobody should envy his success.
It seems like he was talking about an actual player that died. Maybe he got the names mixed up. I've never watched hockey, and don't know any of the player's names, but maybe it sounds like Nelson Mandela 🤔
@@taburthecarguy1201 Oh, that's cool. But what I meant was, maybe the guy in this video misheard the name that the reporter said, like, maybe this guy was talking about an actual player in the hockey community whose name sounds like "Nelson Mandela". It just seemed like he was talking about an actual person in hockey that died when you listen closely.
They are probably as much a celebrity as the people in high school musical or other shows targeted towards kids or teens. So if you discard one you have to discard the other.
@@TruthBeTold121212 No he wasn't. This was an event honoring Nelson Mandela and the hockey player had no idea who he was. I remember when this happened and I was so shocked at the time.
@@351528 Yes, because on the wall behind the person being interviewed is Nelson Mandela's name. So the person being interviewed should have been aware of who was being honored. He was in attendance at an event where he was clueless, that's why they let him blather.
I can't help but feel that way too. 😅 I have no social media accounts, but have heard of how toxic and fake tiktok and its creators can be. I don't think actors and musicians are any "better" than tiktokers (were all human), but the tiktokkers seem more self serving and self important...I don't know its just kinda weird.
The last woman was probably the best thing Jay Z experienced at that time period. Just having a conversation with a random person like a normal human being. Without anyone screaming and asking for pictures.
@Ekquizit Sounds So what? Did he find a cure for cancer? Does he save peoples lives? Has he accomplished anything meaningful for society?...No he hasn't. He's just a guy who makes a bunch of money and accumulates wealth for himself. He just consumes resources and contributes nothing to humanity. Oh...and he's a douche.
@Deep Moticons Drake doesn't create "music". He creates monotone dialogue over simple beats. There's a difference. You sound like someone who's easily influenced. Drake's finnancial success is a direct result.
Even people who think they know who Nelson Mandela is from kids books in school and what the news and history books said have no idea who Nelson Mandela was. And Winnie Mandela was a real trip. I don’t claim to know the whole truth. But I do have to say we all have to admit we don’t know the whole truth. The Mandela‘s are known for fighting for rights, not ethics, morals, or justice. 🤷🏽♀️
The real Mandela Effect: In another universe he was an amazing athlete in many sports, and was particularly well-known as a groundbreaking ice hockey player, but unfortunately passed away a year ago.
You do realize it was Drake's own party, yes? That's why he wasn't arrogant for saying that. The real question is how the person asking that **not** know who was throwing the party.
Artist like Jay Z are a different breed all together. Imagine riding the subway to your 8th arena concert in a row and having a completely chilled out conversation with a woman and immediately connecting like they know each other. 🤯
@@iWatch92 - agreed. His stage name is Jay- Z. His legal name is Sean Carter. Didn't he name one of his albums the Life and Time of Sean Carter or something similar?
The Twice one was my favourite. The actual performers of that song are casually passing by and no one notices them. I bet the girls doing the dance cover would literally freak out if they just knew lol
Oh yes, I agree 🤣 oh my word. I had to watch it twice to make sure I heard him correctly and I am still not sure 🤣. Oy. Thinking about the Icon Madiba, I miss him.
Personally, I don’t blame any of these celebrities being shocked by not being recognized. When you constantly have people freaking out when they see you, I’m certain it gets unexpected when someone just straight up doesn’t realize who you are. Plus, there’s so many lookalikes out there and it’s just plain difficult recognizing specific faces oftentimes. Hell, I’ve worked in the service industry on a “destination-island” for 10 years, met multiple celebrities, and had to be be told by someone else about who I’d just met half the time. Didn’t recognize Justin Timberlake, Sheryl Crow, Nicholas Cage, Shakira, Tiger Woods, Vanilla Ice, and Henry Kissinger when they passed me. Though, gotta say, woulda loved to have kicked the latter two in the face, had I known…
Jay Z just moved up by five points in my books for the way he interacted with this lady. He was not arrogant in any way and that says a lot about his personality. Never change, young man, never change. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Totally agree. He made time to speak to the lady and I bet it’s comforting to know someone is interested in what you do despite not knowing you’re fabulously wealthy.
@@sarahmonique5321 No, if you were at your birthday party and someone didn't know you wouldn't you be like do I know you. Add on the fact that he's Drake. Like how much of a hater can you be to not understand that he was honestly confused.
Nelson Mandela had one of the hardest slapshops ever, his puck handling skills were extremely underrated too. Not to mention he was one of the most feared enforcers in hockey history.
"Are you famous?" "Yes. Not so famous. You don't know me. But I'll get there someday." Okay, that's some real humble shit. I think that's enough reason for me to listen to Jay-Z.
It was drakes party. If someone came to your party and didn’t know who you were wouldn’t that also bug you? Now take that scenario and add in a famous celebrity. I think it’s a fair reaction assuming he doesn’t do it all the time
That’s crazy that Mandela was a pro athlete on top of stopping apartheid in South Africa, being thrown in jail and becoming President of South Africa. He must’ve been a real busy guy back in his day.
Awe ok the Jay z and ellen moment was really sweet. "You're taking the subway?! I'm proud of you." I mean such a cute interaction and he was so humble.
