Guys, really... Australian gun laws are ridiculous and anybody brave enough to work so hard to give people alternatives that work and care about quality deserve to be supported! Let alone have to worry about whether people who design, make, or contribute nothing make comments about visual appeal which is subjective at best and ridiculous after all that... Good work anyway on the work so far.

Hi, I bought the Verney Carron Veloce 12G and Speedline in .308 about 2 years ago. But I will be looking to sell them and get the Buck Master Gen 2 & Chimera .308 now. The forend button position is much more ergonomic for follow up shots than the lever release on the Verney Carron's. I am very impressed by the design. Thanks Dan. Just to make sure you understand what you would be selling, the french quality is certainly better than the Turkish (reflected in cost of the product) but I get what you mean about the mechanism, if you are not working from inside a vehicle or from a tripod the forend button is certainly a better choice.

300 black out? The only reason I ask is I'm old enough to remember back to the days when we could have an SKF in 7.62 x 39. That rifle in 300 black out would be the closest thing on the market to one of those old rifles.
@AustralianSportingAgencies
@AustralianSportingAgencies Месяц назад
Cheers mate, I'll see how much needs to be redesigned, if it is just another barrel and the gas system only needs a tiny bit updating then maybe. First i need one here, to then start designing.

It’s the same cartridge as a 223, I am making 300 Black from cut down used 223 brass that’s resized to 300 black.
@AustralianSportingAgencies
@AustralianSportingAgencies Месяц назад
@@vintagetintrader1062 Yes of course, but because these are gas operated guns, you have to potentially move the gas holes closer to the action, which requires multiple parts to be redesigned and manufactured. So depending on how you solve that issue, it might be worthwhile or not. Time will tell.
@Kesssuli
@Kesssuli Месяц назад
@@vintagetintrader1062 Like our guy there said how things arent usually that simple. Also to make things much more harder are subsonic loads what you might actually want to use in 300bkl. And those wont cycle with same settings as normal loads. Either very overgassed for normal loads to get subs to cycle or it wont cycle with subs at all. Adjustable gasblock could potentially solve that issue but redesigning and inventing stuff may not be a cost effective enough to justify extra efford. There are reasons why bolt-action guns arent gonna go away in anytime soon. Just so much more simpler to make cost effectively.

All great news. Will it be possible to get a PB12 20" + 28" barrels combo deal? Or at least be able to buy a separate 20" or 28" barrel? Also, aren't you worried about the PB223 stealing sales from the Eureka Stockade? Or do the different products represent slightly different market segments for you, so they complement each other? Cheers.
@AustralianSportingAgencies
@AustralianSportingAgencies Месяц назад
Great questions: 1. Yes you will be able to buy the barrel separately and I am hoping to also offer shorter versions but I am still working through that with Celik. 2. The PB223 was always going to capture some customers of the Eureka or vice versa depending on which one is released first. We are just super thankful that we can offer both rifles and both at a similar point in time, so customers can make an informed decision and choose the right one for them. 3. In short, I would take the Eureka into war but not the Chimera, that statement basically addresses everything. Both do have a different price point, design, capability, accuracy etc. so I think they will attract only some customers that overlap and that will have a hard time deciding which one to buy. I assume most customers will know very quickly which one they want.
@Slipprymongoose
@Slipprymongoose Месяц назад
So besides the Australian made part and the lever release position why would I buy a eureka over a chimera? Would an option for a 24" barrel and a rifled barrel ever be available for the buckmaster?
@AustralianSportingAgencies
@AustralianSportingAgencies Месяц назад
Great question: Both have the same magazine Both are .223 Rem Both are 1/8 twist Both have 7 series receivers but that's where it ends. Chimera will be lighter, Eureka will be Aussi made Chimera will be cheaper, Eureka is likely to be more accurate Chimera will shoot "faster" due to the two hand solution, Eureka will be able to stay more accurate as the barrel gets hot and the barrel will heat slower Eureka is likely to last longer, run cleaner Chimera has 1 mini pic rail, Eureka has a bunch of m-locks and a full length pic rail Chimera's recoil is close to nothing, Eureka is even less Eureka is likely available in more calibers Chimera is compatible with off the shelf shotgun stocks and parts, Eureka is compatible with AR platform accessories. Eureka's forend is flat, perfect for barricade and tripod shooting That's it out of the top of my head, but you gave me an idea for another comparison video, maybe @Fhuck Outdoors wants to do one :) In terms of the rifled barrel, I will investigate it. Might not be an issue, just not something I considered, so thanks for the suggestion. In terms of 24 inch, if there is enough demand to justify it, sure.

Eureka's forend is flat, perfect for barricade and tripod shooting That's it out of the top of my head, but you gave me an idea for another comparison video, maybe @Fhuck Outdoors wants to do one :)

When will the gen 2 buck master get here
@AustralianSportingAgencies
@AustralianSportingAgencies Месяц назад
Really depends on the QLD police, they are sitting on our import license. The gen 2 are being manufactured next week, so we could have them within 4 weeks but I think 6 weeks is more realistic. Again, if the police keep playing games, then I can't tell.

So what happens when the government just decides to classify these as automatic too.

Well, there would be a buy back, or grandfathering. Now, if we were smart we would argue that grandfathering isn't sufficient as the value of the gun is basically 0 as there is no market for them afterwards, hence the government must pay us out. The trick is to make it too expensive for them to even try, hence the more guns are in circulations, the more money it will cost them so the less likely it gets. Go buy a few guns my friend!

People like you said the same thing about Adler shotguns, Verney Carron lever release guns etc. Our gun laws (background checks, training, licensing, storage requirements) in Australia clearly work because we don't have mass shootings like America. The hysteria is unnecessary and unwarranted.
