@@wildblue71 I know that it's not an original song, written for her, but taken from "Starmania" written by J.L. Plamondom, but I think that the belts are undoubtley stunning and difficult
@@wildblue71 don't worry, I understand what you mean. One way or another, she proves every time that she can do amazing and unexpected things with her voice!
@Wild&Blue it is one of her top 5 most difficult songs for sure. Probably 1 in a billion can execute those continuous mid and high belts over and over again 25 times and maintain perfect breath control & tone quality, while incorporating numerous melismas and runs. Even Whitney would’ve choked singing this.
Back in 1999, this was just another day at the office for her! So much power. We kind of missed out on more prime vocals when she took a hiatus from 2000 - 2002, but it was for the right reasons.
@@lenstgelais7376 When Celine returned in 2002, vocals in the industry were no longer the main item for success. In fact, it never was, but those who had talent could still put it ahead to disguise the amount of money invested in their careers. 2002, Britney among others were on the rise, and all the new divas that emerged in that decade didn't have great voices like the divas of the 90s. That's why Celine didn't need to prove anything to anyone anymore and that's why she didn't give such resonant performances and powerful from 2002 to now.
@@Supcharged 1991 she very obviously had more natural power in her voice and ended it with a very high note unlike the batsuit and 1999 performances, but in 1991 she lacked the versatility in her technique and was kinda just focused on getting through the song hitting the original, proper notes.
@@danielbenitez6985 There was also another full one from 1992, plus a few shorter ones part of starmania medley in the incognito era. Particularly in 1987-1989 she put in her version of the song
the best part is the little slip she does at the start of the belting session. reminds us that she's human after all. best performance of the song imo. now pls react to "new dawn"!
She never ceases to amaze or inspire.. Gotta love her. My mom is one of those who doesn't care too much for any of the Diva's, its not her thing. She doesn't mind when Celine does more of the Christmas ballads and those type of songs but as a general rule, she isn't a fan. Fast Forward to me playing your previous reaction of 'Cant Help Falling In Love' and my mom straight up said she want's that to listen to in the car. So safe to say she enjoyed that.. We are so lucky to be able to have witnessed and still witness such an incredible talent and career. She spoils us!
This song is from Starmania which is a musical in Quebec and Celine recorded a few songs from it back in the 90s and just killed them all. She sang a lot of them in her french shows in the 90s.
@@lenstgelais7376 let´s make everyone happy: it´s an opera invented by a frenchman (Michel Berger) and a Canadian (Luc Plamondon) based on a previous opera Berger had written (Angélina Dumas). Some versions have been played mainly by french singers (Balavoine, France Gall, etc.), others mainly by Quebecois. So let's enjoy it as a french-canadian opera! Personally, i prefer the 1989 "cyberpunk" version (i've just invented this version name ;), TM all rights reserved :))) that can be watched through this link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VKF_SqeKTYo.html
@@lenstgelais7376Co creation, everybody knows that. The idea of the story, and all the musics are totally french, but Michel Berger wanted an quebecois to wrote a modern livret. The casting in 1978 was half french and canadian. We are cousins.
Crystal clear belts with great vibrato and projection 😍🤩 she handled the closed vowels well as usual, also her stamina to be belting the whole song, amazing
lara has never sung it with so much power from start to finish...here celine goes up to c#5 while lara stays on B4/C5 on this track.....lara is nice but doesn't have that high pitched faith natural like celine .... that's the difference, lara will have to make nuance changes in mixed voice much less powerful and impressive
@@dededejereme2284 I actually prefer Laras version, it's prettier and more emotional. Celine has more volume, Lara has more emotion. It's about preference. I am much more a Celine fan than Lara but don't try to diminish Lara, she has some legendary live performances and her talent cannot be denied.
We all know she can sing her ass off, so maybe react to her subtle performances such as: * hallelujah featuring canadian tennor livr at the oprah (the group was shocked that celine came out of nowhere) * dance with my father live at grammys (technical issue but she killed it) * on ne change pas live at stade de france (her best french song IMO)
Love this song. Great reaction. Always love her tone. Please react to one of my favourite Celine songs - Nothing Broken But My Heart LIVE - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nJ7xJLqbGjQ.html
Adam, Starmania is a musical, written by Luc Plamondon and Michel Berger. As you know this song Le Blues du Businessman, I'd love it if you react to this video. It's a medley of songs from Starmania that Celine used to perform. This is from her tour back in the late 1980s. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SqMU6cEzp0c.html :)
@Liza Tsurkan He's not dictating her how to sing. That's a fact, though, that she became very nasal in the last years, especially from 2016 on. And please, don't be rude if you do not agree with someone's opinion.
Thanks for this reaction! In the spirit of christmas could you please react to Celine singing Blue Christmas? Here's the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-srbjHH5J7Ww.html
