I also own this bag in the taupe color. I’m 5’2”. I adore this bag! It does sit lower on me of course, overall looks bigger on my small frame. The strap sits and stays on my more narrow shoulders. But I agree with all of your points. For me this is such a functional everyday bag that is very easy to carry. I highly recommend!
I have this exact bag and LOVE it! I carry this to work because it fits my laptop without being wide. I can go straight from work to dinner and still feel chic and not bulky while having to bring my laptop in my purse into dinner.
I love this bag Emma! I've wanted it for a while now but even second-hand can't justify the cost. However, I have two Marc Jacobs bags from about 12 years ago which are a similar shape and I'm about to get them both renovated. Hoping they will stop the longing for your Celine Seau Sangle! 😂
Love this style bag. The Tory Burch McGraw Hobo is similar and at a less expensive price point. Great leather, practical and understated branding. Magnetic snap closure at top but I do wish it was able to fully close. Still I love mines. Maybe I should give it a name.
This was on my wishlist for such a long time until I saw my friend’s Sangle after just a year of occasionally wearing it....it **sags**, loses shape and wears a bit crappy after a while😅 I’d definitely be careful! She got the black one too second hand and uses it about once a week and stores it well stuffed!
I do still like the classic LV monogram, such as the croissant I have but I wouldn't have too many and yes they can be classy styled right. When I say I am going off big logos I am mainly referring to the more modern in your face logos 🤣🙈
This bag has no correct closure and a not adjustable belt and has no solid structure For these reasons is horrible🤮🤨 Better are Prada and Louis Vuitton bucket version. That have no big defects!!!😌

I’m 5’1 and own this bag, I find no issues with the length, as it also sits perfect on me surprisingly! I do agree I easily overfill and make this bag super heavy (and then start to worry it gets overstretches from the weight), but also a pro that it’s so deep. Definitely my fave!
Emma, please extend the size range of your blazers!!! I wanted to get one from the preorder and when I saw that it went up to a size 12US only, I was so disappointed. I'm between a size 14US and 16US, which makes it pretty difficult for me to find statement pieces that work for my wardrobe! If you could extend the sizes, lots of us in the plus community can have that ability to rock your piece! xx
I was just at Desert Hills Outlets aka Cabazon this last weekend and my husband bought me the Seau Sangle in Taupe, it’s beautiful! It’s my new everyday bag and we got it for 20% off! My husband was happy too, because he almost bought it for me when we were in NYC. The people at the store were super helpful too. Totally worth the trip!

Never thought I’d find myself saying a handbag review could be perfection but this one was😁You didn’t miss a thing & I couldn’t agree more about the branding of bags-hate tacky logos & that includes big Gs and Cs😜This bag is perfection but out of my $ range. I just ordered Rebecca Minkoff’s Gabby Hobo which is very similar so that’ll do me for almost $2,000 less😊But if I had the coin, I’d have this bag too-you wear it & SELL it beautifully in all your inspiring outfits. Celine should definitely send you a bag for free as I KNOW you’ve sold many for them💗
PS, Forgot to say: I think the minimal use of hardware is what keeps the weight down. I recently bought a “big name” bag on sale online, and the weight of all that hardware is unbelievable, it weighs something like 8 lbs. empty! Stupid me, should have returned it, but I didn’t really notice until I wore it on a quick errand, just with a few things in it, and got a shoulder-blister. It’s become my car bag, then I pull out of it the small bag I really use.

Hi. Thank you for a lovely review, I love watching your reviews ♥️ I am 1,50m and owned this bag. It was definitely too large and wide for me. I think anyone below 1,60m should go for a smaller size. My husband used to joke that I could store baguettes in it 😅 Btw, for a petite person in need of a larger Céline bag, I would personally suggest a Luggage or Belt bag in size micro.
I really want this bag, but I am so torn between pre-owned or brand new. It feels like it’s too expensive to buy brand new, but all the pre-owned ones I’ve found have a worn out strap.
Thanks for the thorough review, my baby arrived today (she’s smaller than I thought)! FYI for those considering the Sangle, the black grained calfskin is being discontinued. Not sure if it will come in another black leather or is being completely phased out - I quickly snapped one up in my local boutique as soon as customer service confirmed they wouldn’t be restocking online. One came up on VC a couple of days ago and sold in less than 10 minutes.
Thanks for the thorough review! I'm going to dissent from the love of this bag. While I love the simple shape and undoubtedly top notch material used, the lack of organization, security and adjustable strap are deal breakers. Reminds me of my previous obsession with the Longchamp totes (in my 20s and 30s I collected multiple colours), which always turn into an unorganized jumble of my things whenever i toss my everyday carry items in them. Nevertheless, the bag looks awesome on you, and I"m sure you'll get lots of wear out of it; therefore, it's a great score for you!

I think for the very hefty price tag,I would definitely want a more secure top fastening . The design of the outer pockets are fairly useless as by putting anything in them it would basically ruin the overall shape. I would personally prefer an adjustable strap though I do like the width of the webbing. I think this bag, is nice but it’s easily duped and for me,just not special enough for the money.

I just bought a leather bag that looks almost identical on Amazon. It's by Bostanten and it comes with a second strap. I love it for all the same reasons you mentioned but it does have a snap on the outer pocket which I prefer.
At the beginning of summer I bought the Celine Gourmette Suede Bag second hand. It has all the features I love, suede, chain, shape and closure. If only Celine were to make it again next season I would buy it full price or more. Unfortunately don’t think they ever will, and my bag leather interior is peeling 😢

Hi! Your great review of the Celine Sangle is making me seriously consider getting one! I wanted to ask how your bag has held up over the years. My main concern is whether or not the leather that rubs against the ring where the strap clasp connects can get damaged over time?
I lust after this bag every day on Vestaillaire (sp?) collective. I would never be able to tell my husband how much it costs even second hand but I may go for it because I know it is really the price devided by the use for the real price cost per wear and I think I would use it a lot! My favorite feature is the hard-to-find exterior pockets, which I love. I would use them for small items that I use a lot, like lip balm, phone and keys, but that does eventually mark the leather with press-marks of their shapes. I agree the bag is maybe not secure enough for London, but it would be fine for my suburban location; I rarely zip my bags anyway. I’m not sure about the wool strap; in my climate half of the year bags are worn over bare skin, and every time I’ve tried a non-leather strap, it wouldn’t stay on my shoulder. So, I ended up having to add one of those clunky rubber strap pads, but they pull out my hair. I could never afford a bag like this anyway, my absolute maximum budget is about $200 US, but it’s fun to think about! Thanks, Em, for a great review🙂

Great review of a very lovely bag. It hurts a wee bit that Judith has slipped a bit in rotation (I have one of my own on the strength of your recommendation; her name is Emma, and I love her) but needs must and we are always moving forward. One question. Like all totes or buckets I am always rummaging blindly, usually when driving with my bag on the passenger seat, and I wondered if you found the vertical depth difficult to reach into and find items? Because you are so tall I’m guessing your arms are much longer than my stumpy 5’4” allows, so it might not be an issue for you. Curious as to your thoughts.
