i think Cosgrove is airborne when he wins the ball makes contact with Ajer i think that's why it is a red by the rules of the game because you can't be in control of a challenge if you're literally flying through the air however do i agree with it no not really football has gone to soft in my opinion he went for the ball he got the ball there was some follow through but this is competitive sports these guys shouldn't be wrapped in cotton wool

As an Aberdeen fan, was never a red, yes wasn't a very controlled challenge but won the ball and the Celtic player jumped over the challenge. But shows how poor the refereeing is in this country how on earth was that not a penalty in the first half?

The tackle was brisk but controlled and fair. Watch the slow motion replay carefully. The tackle is made with the right foot and the ball is taken cleanly whilst the ball is on the ground and by implication it wasn’t “high” - this isn’t supposed to be a golf equivalent of a “pitch” shot. Moreover, the left leg is bent at the knee and therefore it wasn’t a two-footed tackle. In any event, the contact with the left leg was minimal and took place well after the contact was made with the ball with his right foot. The rolling on the ground though and thug Brown’s usual antics likely swayed it.

Players have a lot to answer for as well rolling around the way they do. The screaming fans got him the red card there. Sad when you can't fully commit into a challenge these days.
