I’m surprised nobody talks about the records this year and how hard it is to get into the playoffs. Last year for example, in the west, the play-in spots had records of 2 games over .500 to 2 games under .500. This year the play in spots are 13 games over .500 to 7 games over. The lakers already have their win total from last year. Less 50 game winners. The league is very well rounded this year. Difference is last year there weren’t as many teams under 20 wins by this point in the season. But everyone else stepped up crazy

Now you can add mavs, wolves, okc, maybe clippers, suns were a preseason favorite before injuries and that’s just “contenders”. Not even counting teams who other teams with good records like Cavs, pelicans, knicks etc. it’s just a little more well rounded.

Good list outside of the Rudy gobert take, the difference between the perimeter defence of Utah and Minnesota is massive. The biggest reason jazz bombed out of the playoffs was shocking perimeter defence, Gobert was being asked to be the only positive defender on the court during playoff series for Utah.

Well ofc you can beat Denver without Murray, Denver is 6 and half man team so if you take one huge piece you cut a team by 20%,outsude starting 5 Denver relys on two second year players who need to bring energy and 6 or more points on a good day, and Reggie Jackson who can be mental at times
