First time trying this new format, didn’t have a script in front of me so I mixed up a thing or two. I will next time though, I’m still learning. Thanks for pointing out this mistake for other viewers I’ll be better in the future.

I’ll disagree with you on the oilers depth being worse than other teams you’re just flat out wrong on that. Oilers bottom 6 was better than Dallas bottom 6 in that series. Sure having McDavid and drai helps but if you went with the brain dead logic of “oh without McDavid drai and bouch they’re not a good team well I’d argue most good teams fall into that category. Pittsburg without Malkin and Crosby is trash, Washington without ovechkin, backstrom, Carlson is trash, LA without doughty and kopitar during their prime runs are trash, Anaheim without getzlaf and Perry woulda been trash, Chicago without Kane and toews are trash, Tampa without kucherov, headman, vasilevski are trash, do I need to continue? That logic you used is pure garbage.

I don't think he actually watches the oilers if he came to that conclusion, saying our depth is worse then the Canucks, give me a break. Also saying Ken Holland Drafting Bouchard and Drai when he clearly didn't.

Yes the Oilers depth was better than Dallas’ in that series that’s why they won but overall if you think the Oilers depth was better than the Stars’ all year we’re just going to have to agree to disagree cause I don’t believe that’s true at all. And I don’t get your point about teams without their best players. Yes any team without their great players is going to be worse, my point was the oilers are one of the most extreme examples of top end talent carrying a massive load throughout the entire playoffs. Enjoy your day my friend, appreciate you watching

@@TheSpitSportsShow all year doesn’t matter it’s playoffs that do. Once the oilers coach gave the bottom 6 an identity and more playing time they significantly improved. The point about top players is you said the oilers would be trash without McDavid drai and bouch and I’m saying what team wouldn’t? Tampa isn’t winning any cups without headman kucherov and vasilevski.

@UnhingedCanadian If you take let’s say Kuch and Headman, to use your example, off of those cup winning Lightning teams I think that team is for sure still making the playoffs. The Oilers this year without McDavid and Draisaitl are completing for first overall. That’s my general point, I hope you somewhat get it.
@UnhingedCanadian

@@TheSpitSportsShow you forgot vasilevski. Without vasilevski hedman and kucherov they’re not making the playoffs either. I took their 3 best players just like you took edmontons 3 best players. Also you’re forgetting Hyman have a 50 goal season and 17 in the playoffs. Nuge is a top 5 2 way center in the league he plays 1st unit powerplay 1st unit PK and 1st line with McDavid. You didn’t even mention ekholm who is a large reason for Bouchards growth defensively. Skinner while shaky at times has stolen 2 games this post season so far he stole a game against LA in round 1 they 1-0 with only 13 shots and then 2-1 against Dallas with only 10 shots. Kane has played with a sports hernia since early December you prob didn’t know that and he’s still putting up points. Janmark had 1 goal against Dallas that arguably changed the series. Almost all of the oilers bottom 6 play on the penalty kill which has been the best anyone’s seen at 94% and gone 100% in both Dallas and LA series. I think you’re just a casual and don’t understand depth. The oilers bottom 6 has been able to go up against anyone and outwork out cycle and not allow goals. That allows the top 6 so much more freedom. I’d say Edmonton has some of if not the best role playing bottom 6 players in the playoffs.

I'm almost six decades old and I've witnessed a lot of hockey from the 1970's thru today's Finals and you are spot on young brother!!! McDavid is absolutely in the same breath as those other 4 and even though I'm a multi-generational Floridian I will be happy to see him win the Cup. Canada deserves one and it should be McDavid that returns it. He would never buy another beer anywhere in Canada if his Oilers break the 31yr Cup drought. Keep up the great work! I'm now your newest subscriber!

What you don't know about, when the 4 wha teams joined the nhl. They were stripped of their players. Not like Vegas and Seattle. Each team was allowed to keep 3 players, 1 forward, 1 defense, 1 goalie. Then they got to draft, but they got the last 4 spots. Edmonton got the final draft spot. So with that the won there first cup in 5 years. Vegas was given a team from all the other teams.

I didn't know this. Wow. I thought they had their teams intact entering the league. Crazy. Look at their first 3 years of drafting too. Excellent drafting past the first round.

I get the premise of the video, but it's so far off that it's almost hilarious. Connor McDavid didn't save the Oilers. He's the best on the planet, but he isn't single handedly going to carry them to raising the cup tomorrow night. It's a complete team effort and lately it seems like most of that effort is actually coming from guys like Brown, Henrique and Janmark in the bottom 6. Love or hate Ken Holland, he deserves credit for putting together a legitimate cup contender team around the core. It took him 5 years to do it, but he did and that is a fact. I will give McDavid and Drai some credit. It's a lot easier for Holland to find good players to come to Edmonton when those 2 superstars are here.

The Oilers are good enough to beat the mediocre teams like Vancouver and LA. They are not close to being cup winners.

551 sold out games of attendance during the decade of darkness. I don't think the franchise was at risk. McDavid made it a winning team for sure, but playoff wins have needed Brown & Janmark on the PK just as much as McDavid. It's not a one man team.
