Nice stopper placements.

That pitch was way harder than it’s rated in my opinion. You had me glued to the screen and I couldn’t believe the skill you showed on those crux moves. Where you yelled “shit”, I would have been yelling ‘falling’. And even though I’ve been climbing for many years, I learn something new with every one of your vids that I watch. So thanks for taking us along with you on your adventures!

Putting a lot of faith in one piece. Carabiners unclip or cross load and break. A couple extra slings and that first stopper could have been left in. Extending the runner, increasing the chance of it staying in place, even better.

This was an onsight and a long pitch so I was trying to save slings, especially since I didn't know what I'd need higher up. I don't like to be reliant on only a single piece too much, but it was a solid placement and I was able to place a bomber cam only a few feet higher. Extending the sling could've made that nut safer, thats a fair point. I think my decision making was safe though.

@@jeffersonashby Definitely not saying you were not safe. And I know that it is easy to be critical while sitting on my couch.😀 Just a thought for new leaders that with slings and carabiners so light these days that bringing a couple more and backing up even a bomber piece after running out a easy section can be a good idea. Carabiners unclip or break if cross loaded. I watched my friend take a 40 footer and end up 5 feet from the ground when a carabiner decided to unclip. We learn from each other and apply it in the best way possible at the time.

Yeah, I appreciate the criticism. Complacency and overconfidence are the biggest cause of accidents, so its good to be critical and reevaluate my safety decisions.

It was really fun. If you're ever in Squamish I'd definitely recommend it.
