I got stuck in a Bog with an M110, REME hooked me up to another Gun & bellied that as well so they hooked us both up on a straight bar to a Cent Wrecker & It pulled us both out with no probs, the power of that Centurion was incredible. Good job Lads 👍👍👍
Watching you work on Abbotts,43's,Chiefs and Cents brings back memories for me. Only advice I can give is to be careful with the K60G engine (Abbott), they had atendency to shear the Scavenge blower drive shaft, which causes the engine to fire once then just turn over (exhaust gases can't get out of the cylinders). If the coolant pump isn't turning (driven off the blower front gear set) then the drive shaft has gone . A hint is a "jumping" rev counter needle as the broken shaft ends drag (rev counter is powered by the tacho gen on the input side of the blower shaft.
When engine compartment and accessories is rusty it is needed good knowledge how to handle it and it seems that you guys are having this knowledge! Keep going 💪 👍👍
Maybe soaking the bolts on the deck with panther P*as applied the day before might prevent the heads snapping off the bolts. Just saying, did wonders with bolts I had to remove on a vehicle that hadn't been touched for 40 years!
I love this channel and all the crew. It’s so British and in complete contrast to Australian Armours Workshop Wednesday, where that take time and energy to get things just perfect. Keep up the good work 👍
That Foden that identifies as a Foden sounds sweeet, but the cross dressing other one needs some tlc, 👍 great video pal, I envy your toy box if you was nearer me I would volunteer my time.
13:05 "This tank can be declared officially sniffed." Faux-den doesn't work - cut to immediately after, ignore the fact that afternoon is now night - and we have a real Foden.
Did you give any of those bolts a tickle with the hot torch beforehand? A bit of heat usually persuades old bolts to give up their love for fittings. Nice bit of welding on that there socket/adaptor by the way. Proper job.
I very much enjoy your channel and it,s content "real will it run" type stuff! Have you got any idea what the clutch plates are made of? (possibly asbestos?) take care with all that dusty crap it will get you... I look forward very much to part 2
Another "success". Good to see another piece of history being brought back to life and preservation. I jumped when I saw you about to grab that freshly welded (still smoking) "adapter" but you must've stopped yourself at the last second. That would've smarted a bit!
Guys, 22 years as a Recovery Mechanic in REME…. If there’s anything you need to know about Cent ARV winch … let me know… I have a full operators guide book too!
@@mrwhiteinca Whichever beasty he's hauling his tanks with. Unless this like Monty Python's swallow question to the bridge keeper. If I answer wrong will I be launched into the Gorge of Eterna Peril?
Great stuff I spent a Short period of time when in Royal Engineers at Armored Chieftain bridge layers Engineer tractors RR engines when they worked and Cent gun tanks. It was shit sweep tank park Paint tank. I escaped I love anything will it run. people bring me things and I won't give up. I always thought the Minor engine was part of the starting on Cents. Shows how much interest i showed. We cleaned engine bay of Bridge layer with the Diesel fuel hose with fuel pump on like pressure washer while doing a pack change in the field somewhere. I loved that part of it like the stuff you do just not the Tankey part I joined Engineers no Tanks I'll get abuse now 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
We also used small tins of a highly combustible agent we called " releasing oil " it ate through rust, and you couldn't use it in a confined space . You just used a cap full ( like a teaspoon full) on a rusty bolt, and it sometimes helped.
Alright fellas I've seen the standard car and truck will it start video. I've seen construction equipment, aircraft and even a fork truck and locomotive but by far the absolutely least expected will it start is a tank. Think you just took the will it start crown
soak and warm bolts 48hrs prior, use easy outs drilled in for any round or stuck bolts . use long bar method for torque on socket before using the mechanical fast bolt remover
I predict in the hopeful not so distant future we see a flood of videos from UKR- Russian T-72-will it start? Russian BMP-2- will it start? Russian T-80- Will it start?
The camera guy sounded like a bit of a saddo 🤣 come back jack all is forgiven 😄. What happened to the northerner with the whippet and flat cap by the name of Matt?
@@kippamip Oh dear we have a sarcastic pedant armed to the teeth with a keyboard. The one who calls people 'saddo' for not having a northern accent. 😏😏 Must a Navy man right 'Jack'? I am pretty sure people knew what I meant as 'tank' is a pretty generic term for civvies.
@@1chish I am armed to the teeth with a keyboard yes, you could say pedantic even yes, but certainly not former Navy. Actually former Cavalry, and not a northerner either, actually from the industrial heart lands the Midland's and it's all meant in gest (banter) you see, and understand that most "civvies" don't handle it too well, but don't take what I type to heart or misinterpret it. 👍🏼 Good day.
@@kippamip I may be a civvie now but I have done my time (Crab Air) and enjoy banter as well as anyone. Yours did not come across as that especially as the vast majority of readers will be civvies. Hence my point of using the word 'tank' and pulling you up on calling the owner a 'saddo'. And I didn't call you a Northerner either. I suggested that people are not 'saddos' just because they do NOT have a Northern accent. I was being kind calling you a Jack but I stand corrected. So you're a Pongo ... 🤣🤣 And a very good day to you as well. Have a very safe week.
