Century 2300 Sprayer Rebuild...but WHY and WHAT have I done now! (Part One)

After much debate, and lots of reading...I decided to fix the sprayer. Sometimes I get way ahead of myself, and the seed cost and sprayer repair steered me away this year.
But after lots of looking, more reading and pricing...I found some cheap parts that should get me by this season on what I need to spray. Then I can tell if the direction is herbicide or just roll with what I have.
Hopefully will make it in time to spray some possible burn down, if not for sure pre-emerge before planting. With the conventional route, that's my only option, but hoping to keep the grass and weeds at bay with the cultivators after planting. This is more of a test year for me than BPA goals.
I hope to set up a N rig set of booms for it, but may not make it this season. A lot longer video than normal, and it's two parts so hopefully you guys will enjoy it!

I like the longer videos. I'll just fast forward through what I don't want to watch 😂 You'll be glad you got the sprayer fixed up.

Thank you sir for the input, it and the sprayer both are uncharted waters 🤣🤣 Yes sir, thank goodness for that feature...Lord knows it bores me at times to edit this stuff I film 😂😂😂😂 Thank you Dylan, I do believe you are Right!! I can already see benefits adding up!! Thank you sir for always being here, I really appreciate that!! 😁😁👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🌽🌽

The long-form videos are good. You can really show a topic. We need to get on the phone and talk about tags. You'd get a lot more views with proper tagging. Let's figure out a time to talk. Cheers Nelson!

That’s a good fix on the boom and a great start to getting it operational. Biggest thing with using chemicals is safety wear and knowledge about chemicals and mixing. This is one of those things where there aren’t any take backs. Saying that, the men here (Glen excluded) have done some crazy things with sprayers. 😳😳 This video flew by Nelson, lots going on. Great job.

My OCD will win this winter I think , and the booms will get redone compy🤣🤣🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ Yes the whole chemical and all the stuff needed gets overwhelming for sure!! I hope to keep the regiment low but to have success now a days it seems you need a lot!! I have myself too witnessed some very "questionable" things done back when I was younger watching tobacco get sprayed. 😳 Thank you both very much for always being here, I really appreciate!! I am behind again on videos, I apologize very much!! 😁😁👍👍

Some new sprayers have aluminum booms. But my thoughts is why don’t they have stainless or atleast stainless hardware? Liquid Nitrogen and other chemicals are corrosive. You should be able to make new booms fairly easy/cheap. How long you want to make your videos is your call. I might have 40 minutes of footage that I cut down to 10 because I know I don’t want to watch all the bs myself:
@Pennies_on_the_dollar
@Pennies_on_the_dollar 6 месяцев назад
I agree with that, is it a cost issue or they just want to keep selling new ones!! I think you hit the nail on the head, I am debating on aluminum booms for the N setup since they are easy to duplicate 😉 Yes I really hesitated doing anything longer than normal, but it seems some enjoy it, and alot of y'all that know me can skip right through the really bad stuff.... because you know how long winded I can be 🤣🤣😂😂😂 It was very tuff during editing, to not cut out a lot of it. I can say it won't be the normal until I grow substantial, and then I still think it will be shorter than "yt" says is good! Thank you Russ for always being here, I really appreciate that!! 😁😁👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🌽🌽

I think mixing the chemical will be the crucial part. The sprayer appears to be in good condition. Did I hear 38 inch rows ? The reason I ask is that was the minimum we could plant for the mounted corn picker. Thank you Nelson.

Depending on nozzle spacing and nozzle spray patterns, usually 20" to 30" above the crop you are spraying. The hole reason I got the new sprayer was so I could get more clearance. Good luck, and it looks like a good sprayer to get started with.

Man, another brand spanking new tire at IP Farms! 🤣🤣 I agree with what you told me before, sometimes you have to do a longer video just to be able to show enough of the process to be helpful. It is a pain having to deal with that much footage though. I think that sprayer will work out perfect for you! You can still use the sprayer for weed control in conventional corn too, a lot of herbicides are still compatible with non GMO corn. Roundup almost isn't worth spraying anymore here, almost everything is resistant to it anyway. You're making good progress! Hope you have a good one, Nelson!
