Even a factory new boat will have swirl marks and light scratches. We use a glossmeter to measure the shine and find that new boats will average around 85GU. After a polish with Glidecoat Nano Polish and two coats of Marine Ceramic Coating, the boat will hit 95GU or higher on the glossmeter. The best part though is that the ceramic coating will keep it looking better than factory new for 18-24 months with little maintenance.

I had my brand new jet ski ceramic coated with ceramic pro last year but it spotted like crazy. Quite frustrated by spending all that money to see that happen but come to find out many ceramic coatings spot when water dries on it. Will Glidecoat marine spot or is it more resistant to spotting since its marine specific?

Hey Nate - Unfortunately water spots will happen if the water is left to dry/evaporate on the surface of your coating. In our case, the marine coating is hydrophilic which causes the water to sheet instead of beading which is what happens on a hydrophobic coating. This does result in less water spots, but they can still occur. The best thing to do is spray and wipe down after use to avoid water spots altogether. Do you still have life left in your CeramicPro coating? If so, you could also try using our ceramic after care product Ceraglo which will clean away left over mineral spots, but it also has soft polymer in the wash which will add an additional sacrificial layer to your ceramic coating. This will help extend the life of the coating if used as part of your regular wash process.

@@Glidecoat The ceramic pro honestly was disappointing for marine use. I compounded and polished any remaining coating while I was taking all the spots and etching out. I was looking to either ppf the ski or try a marine specific ceramic coating. I will give you guys a shot and try your marine specific ceramic coating. Would you recommend Glidecoat Marine Shine & Shield as a replacement for the ceraglo or vise versa? Also do you have any discount codes since I plan on purchasing multiple items?

@@Driven82 If you have removed all the prior coating... and it sounds like you have a pretty good surface, compounded and polished... I would go with 50ml of the marine ceramic coating. Before you apply the coating, make sure you give the surface a good wash and then wipe with Isopropyl or our Surface Wipe product. This will remove any contaminants and then you are ready for the coating. I would then recommend grabbing one of the maintenance bundles - it has both Ceraglo and Marine Shine and Shield at a discounted price. The Ceraglo is more of a wash with a small amount of Polymer to give you a few weeks of protection... We recommend using that every two weeks as part of a regular wash. Then Marine Shine and Shield you would apply once every four months. That has a higher percentage of polymer to give you more protection. This will extend the life of your coating and give you the best results. For a coupon code - send me an email james.payson@glidecoat.com and I'll see what we can do for you.

It appears that, you applied the ceramic coating and immediately wiped it off, is this correct? Is there no wait time for it to flash or something?

That is correct. With our Marine Ceramic Coating, you buff immediately with a microfiber after applying the coating. If you wait too long the surface will become difficult to buff and it can cause streaking.

Cool videos but none of them tell you anything on how to apply any of your products. That makes all the difference.

Thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback - we have a couple of other videos which go into more detail: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-993Ung1g-i0.html - this video was actually taken during a training session we did with one of our professional detailers. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8tFzpYcWNp0.html - this video shows more of the restoration process, including the polishing and compounding steps. We also have a video which goes into a lot more detail, but the restoration and application is on an RV, but the process would be the same - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KdzwACxHMoo.html And above those - if you have any questions reach out again and we will be happy to help.
