@@GlenAndFriendsCooking Truly a amazing purchase! I actually enjoyed this entire video, every minute of it actually. I grew up on a private airstrip 35-WI / Barkers Airstrip, Wisconsin, My Father was a A&P mech. and I spent much of my youth from the early 1970's into the mid 80's working with my dad pulling inspection covers, cleaning parts, vacuuming cabins etc, bucking rivets etc. So for me your video was a great trip down memory lane. I was also very impressed by your A&E mech. and how he was so willing to have you present during the pre-purchase inspection, and how he explained everything to you as he did. I found it all very informative and interesting.

There is nothing more interesting to me than watching a competent craftsperson exercising their knowledge/skillset. What a fascinating insight into aviation maintenance. As an AMT that works on regional airliners in the US, I love looking at the simplicity of these older Cessnas. No hydraulics, No turbines, Not too many electrical wires to shoot when troubleshooting, and especially no Lav toilets to service or maintain 😂 These planes look like a dream to work on. I would switch to GA if the money was right.

It's amazing that you could buy a decent, flyable 172 for $20,000 CAD, when the price of a new 172 is $460,000 CAD. Well done! I never saw an AME doing a Cessna inspection before. There is a lot to inspect, but it is reassuring that the inspection is thorough.

A side project for you Glen, put a lapel mic on that guy and have him go through a pre-purchase inspection on some other plane and you add some graphics to highlight what he's looking for and maybe throw an image of 'good' vs. 'bad' at the items in question. Your friend the AME gets an excellent promotional video for his work and you've got another side job to generate money for your airplane hobby. Or use your 9 hours of video and do that, but having him mic'ed would be best because he was putting an awful lot of great information out there, but it was very hard to hear/understand because he was just getting picked up by your area microphone. [And if you can document enough of the work like this, hey; it becomes a business expense- at least here in the States.]

Chris is awesome. Great work with the GoPro regardless of obvious "pitter patter' challenges. It stands to reason a very thorough inspection, prebuy or preflight, is required as you're taking a metal box into the air; which in turn could fail and plummet to the earth at your or others detriment. Like the meat slicer ad, safety first.
