It's incredible how slow they can fly while generating lift. My old company works on legacy Lears, like the 35s. Depending on the day, you wouldn't rotate until around 130kn. Those Citations are cool!
@tallyho4483
@tallyho4483 4 года назад
Christopher Bain the takeoff and landing performance on the Latitude/Sovereign+ is amazing. The only problem is you pay for it on max cruise speed. There is always a trade off between being able to takeoff and land on short runways compared to fast cruise speeds. What company were you at with the Lears?

Do the yoke pedalstiles get in the way at all? Seems like they would, if you’re not the one actively flying . . . Single pilot certified?
@tallyho4483
@tallyho4483 3 года назад
No not really. Honestly I haven’t flown an airplane that didn’t have a control column in at least 10 years. I would imagine if I got in an airplane that didn’t have one, I’d be amazed at the amount of room. The Longitude is a Crew airplane. Requires two pilots.

Thank you for great video ! Can this plane be compared with Citation X (if not take into consideration 0.91 mach for X model), or both are in different segments anyway ?
@tallyho4483
@tallyho4483 4 года назад
Andrew Letaev great question. It can be compared with the avionics because they are both using Garmin G5000, but that’s really it. When it comes down to handling and flying characteristics, they are nothing alike. The thrust to weight ratio along with the dramatic difference with wing sweep creates a completely different approach to how you fly the X. The Latitude is very easy to fly, almost too easy. The X isn’t that difficult, but you have to fly it with a different mindset, and be aware of a lot more compared to the Latitude/Sovereign.

How difficult is the latitude to fly vs others?
@tallyho4483
@tallyho4483 4 года назад
The Latitude is very easy to fly. Especially compared to the Legacy Sovereign or some of the older CJ varieties. Technology is definitely making it easier to fly aircraft, almost too easy. It’s very easy to get complacent and to start seeing a decline in actual flying ability due to over reliance on the automation.

Heavy on the roll coming from a Falcon...finger tip. Kinda lame on cruise speed with any weight. Also can be floaty if youre coming in with any extra speed over ref...dont over flare or come in hot.
